Both keys? I currently only have 7 installed.

What can I do about activating? Windows 10 is 120 bucks for Home and 200 for Pro, which is a bit steep IMO. Yeah, I've been reading up on Steam, as it's not a typical program in how it works, etc. I'm more worried about SFM/ Source SDK as I use that and it's on the Windows drive. But my PC can handle both OSes too as well.
I meant once 10 is installed.
as for activating, the free key should be identical to any other key, so it will give you the full thing.

But don't I need to have had Win 10 installed for it to find the Windows 10 key? Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't know it can generate a key for 10 if I haven't installed it. The only legit key I have is from Windows 7 Pro.

the install tool should generate the key. however, if you are worried, yuo can do the following:

make sure you have win7 key
backup your system
install win10 over it
get win10 key
downgrade to 7 using backup.
install windows10 in duelboot mode and enter key.

that said, I am 98% sure that the tool will do it for you.

Is this tool even legal? And it's not like that weird method that activates it for 180 days and makes you redo it? That said, I've been reading that the Windows 7 key can be used as well, somehow.

its Microsoft's official tool. remember when Microsoft let you upgrade for free? they made a USB installer version of the upgrade program. that's still happening for some reason. I'll check out the win7 key thing in a sec.

The WinkeyFinder is or you mean the USB ISO downloader for Windows? I already have a USB flash drive with Win 10 pro on it :P As for the key, yeah, 200 bucks is kinda steep.

Err.. Why would you even consider keeping the windows currently installed on your pc with everything thats wrong with it?
Just wipe the drive, reinstall windows, go to ninite.com, download everything you need an you are done. Win10 install process is as automatic as it can get. I got the same specs as you and I actually noticed a better performance after upgrading from 7 to 10.

Trying to fix something that is so broken is just stupid, just format it and start fresh.

Sorry for confusing you, any info on the Windows 7 key used for Windows 10? I'm about to go sleep as it'e getting late, sorry about that :P Keep me posted as I'm curious.
my friends do fresh installs of 10 on UEFI systems and it doesnt even ask for a key, it uses a standard home 10 key (publicly available) to activate

ISOs straight from Microsoft (no key included, so its a sha1 verified duplicate of actual OS)
https://heidoc.net/joomla/technolog...icrosoft-windows-and-office-iso-download-tool

Burn to thumb drive
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool
OR
https://rufus.akeo.ie/

activate, FOR TESTING YOUR OS PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT TO BE USED ILLEGALLY WHATSOEVER
https://forums.mydigitallife.net search:MTK

I'm sure you can figure it out from here ;)

The only reason we wipe is to be sure rootkits and such are removed (its the best way to clear your shit). if you have issues plugging an external in via USB then just hook it up locally via SATA for speed.

Fun tidbit - tools like MTK are rootkits

hey, if you want to try use malwarebytes. Some times i have a problem with chrome also but i always can fix it with MB.
for windows, kmspico is the best tool. after you install new versions of windows (10,8,8.1,7) just run km spico. and your windows is activated.

That's what I've been using, and quarantined the malware I found with.

Ever since this past Sunday, Chrome has been giving me nothing but trouble. Like, as in, it will completely lock up Windows and not let me move the mouse, task manager, complete lockup, forcing me to hard reboot. I can't figure out why, but I noticed this after updating to the newest version of Chrome, the previous version didn't do anything like this. Could it be now that I'm forced to update to Windows 10? I made a flash drive for me to upgrade, but unfortunately, I'm past the time where Win 10 upgrade is free, so I'd have to install on a new partition and then pay for a license, ugh. So yeah, suffice to say I'm annoyed and I'm at a loss as to what could be causing it. Chrome may have a memory leak, and then the OS will run out of memory and page file memory and just crap out. I tried looking for viruses and malware, and I haven't found anything there, so that's good. My question is, though, were I to install Windows 10 on another HDD/partition, I assume that I won't be experiencing this issue? I'm getting really close to just doing it :P

So far, it's only happened twice, once Sunday, once tonight about 10 min ago. It's either that, or my primary HDD is starting to fail, but I don't see any of the signs of that either, no unusual noises for that matter. So, what would be the best course of action? I'm using Firefox right now because I'm not sure if using Chrome right now is the best thing to do. No other programs have done this except the most recent Chrome.

Edit: After some reading, I found one cause is hardware acceleration, which may make sense. As I had it off before with no issues, and was reenabled when the update occurred.
Windows 10 is literally installing spyware; I have it, but it still sucks.

You should have upgraded to Windows 10 a long time ago. You're lucky it's still free through a loophole. (I really don't think they need the money at this point anyway)

PC's been fine since removing the malware, which I guess had been on here for some time. I know, it's fine for now though, and when I do get 10, I'm dual booting; I absolutely refuse to make it the main OS.
