So I have never played any of them, but they look pretty cool. Right now I am getting awakening. But I have the SNES one and if there are any for gba or nds i am pretty sure i got them also.

And I see there are 2 fates ones, conquest and birthright so what is the difference

Awakening is a pretty good entrance point to the series: it was designed to win a new generation of fans, and gives the right kind of help to facilitate that.
Fates can be a lot harder as a game, especially Conquest, so I recommend getting that later, when you're sure you like the series.

Other good starting points could be Path of Radiance for the Gamecube, or any of the English-released GBA titles.
Personally, I don't really recommend the older games (they look dated and are hard for the sake of being hard; even as a series fan, I don't want that), or the DS ones, because they tried to go back to that mentality.

well I have the snes one, the gba ones, the ds ones, and obviously I have cfw on my 3ds so I technically have all of those ones. well might as well ask, what the difference between conquest and birthright are,, they say they are both fates games, I don't get it, are they 2 completely different games?

Shadows of Valentia. It has an amazing new open world feature for some parts of the game and it removes the god awful weapon durability system. It's not as bad as BoTW's durability system tho...

my friend that are so much addicted in FE told me that it`s better start with any of the GBA games, maybe first the blazing sword (or just fire emblem on original release ) and then the sword of seals , only have fan translated of course, these or the Gamecube then wii FE games
He told me that starting with the 3DS ones (idk if the echoes are in because was not launched when he told me that xD) give you a wrong idea about the series.

I cannot tell by myself but whe I get to it, gonna be like this friend recommended me xD

what the difference between conquest and birthright are
I made a similar thread about this here. But I totally recommend trying both, Birthright is better to get adjusted and grind for characters when you're starting out, Conquest was aimed at long time fans apparently. Revelations was purely for story and gave a harder route than Conquest. So the listing order in difficulty, first being hardest is as follows:
  • Revelations
  • Conquest
  • Birthright
It follows different spectrum of the same story so to speak, I highly recommend playing them all for the full experience, probably Revelations last.
Shadows of Valentia.
Shadows of Valentia was ultimately a remake of an older game, and definitely not aimed at newer players, honestly as someone's who's been a fan for not long now, I can tell you this first hand. It's really aimed at more experienced players.

Responding to the original post, definitely Awakening as an entry point however, do you have the Wii release of Fire Emblem? If so I recommend that one also.

The gba games are a great start!

Dont listen to the ones saying they are dated . .The snes ones are dated.

The gba games have my favorite animations of all fire emblems. They are beatiful sprite animations which still stand up today.
They dont have the "casual" game mode like the newer 3ds ones. This can be frustrating but is enjoyable nonetheless.

Then move onto the 3ds ones which have more production value but go full 3d mode, which i never liked in the battle animation :/. The sprite animation always had "weight" and where kinda "punchy" .. sigh

I am a casual video game player and earlier this year I was thinking about getting a 3DS, given its relatively easy hacking and vast catalogue; not only of 3DS games themselves but also of DS, GBA and SNES. So I checked numerous videos and articles about the 'Top Games' for the console, and the one title which caught my attention was 'Fire Emblem: Fates', whose gameplay and animations were highly praised.
I basically got my 3DS because of this game.

About six months after getting my 3DS console, I can tell you that 'Fire Emblem: Fates - Conquest' lived up to my expectations. The story could have been handled in a better way, but the gameplay is awesome. And because of this game, I got interested in the Fire Emblem series and am now trying the GBA games (including translations of Japan-only titles.)

Try 'Conquest'. I am positive that you will like it.

I would start with the older ones, it gets kind of difficult going back to old entries due to the QOL fixes games implement over time.

I don't have a Wii, and I hate that console lol. All I have is a 3ds with cfw, and of course emulators. Probly start with GBA I guess. I have experience with these kinds of games BTW, I beat shining force 2, ff tactics original and the GBA one, I figure fire emblem is similar

Start with any of the GBA ones, find the injected cia versions and start
Personally i started with the fan translated version of FE The Binding Blade

You can also try the DS version: FE New Mystery of the Emblem, (It's a remake of the Super Famicom version Mystery of the Emblem)

If you don't like the oldskool gfx etc... well start with Fates on 3DS

You are only missing 'The Binding Blade' then, and I do not think that it would make any difference in experience.
Its translated version is available on that ISO site.

I also got both DS games to play with a flashcard, and, honestly, I prefer the animations of the GBA ones. Maybe because the GBA games look 'old-school' when compared to the 3DS ones, while the DS look simply outdated in comparison.

My first suggestion would be Awakening. It's sort of the be all end all of Fire Emblem games, incorporating various things from each games into it. Next, try Shadows of Valentia, since that one has some things that are unique to it. You can play Fates: Birthright after that, since it's the easiest of the three Fates games.

What about story wise, are they sequels to each other, I guess that's a big question I have. Like watching return of the Jedi before watching the original movie, I don't want to do that

A couple of the games are sequels, while some are stand alone. It kind of goes like this:

Archanea saga: Shadow Dragon (Famicom*/DS) -> Shadows of Valentia (Famicom*/3DS) -> Mystery of the Emblem (Super Famicom*/DS*) -> Awakening (3DS) -> Fates (3DS)
Jugdral saga: Genealogy of the Holy War (Super Famicom*) -> Thracia 776 (Super Famicom*)
Elibe saga: Binding Blade (GBA*) <-> Blazing Blade (GBA) (Now, Binding Blade is the 6th game released, while Blazing Blade was the 7th. Blazing is technically a prequel, so it's like the Star Wars films with their prequels. Pick which way you want to go)
Magvel saga: Sacred Stones (GBA) This is really the only truly stand alone game
Tellius saga: Path of Radiance (GameCube) -> Radiant Dawn (Wii) These are the one's with Ike, so you may no a little about him.

The games with asterisks are games released inly in Japan, so you would have to use an emulator if you want to play those.

Like I said, Awakening is probably the best starting place. It may be a sequel to others, but the references to past games are not that overt, and you don't have to know them to play the game. Fates, though, as a couple spoiler characters that connect to Awakening, so Fates must come after Awakening,
