Look on the back. It has a white label with a bunch of numbers. Last part of it should be like "CECH2xxxx"

Well since my slim can download to at least 3.6, is there any version between that and the latest that don't necessarily have a full CFW but can do something, at least backup loaders or something?
No you either have 3.55 or 4.82 as entry points to CFW and only CFW will allow you to use backup loaders
Hello, i have a CECH-2008A console and i cant install CFW. After the SUCCESS thing the console reboots then i proceed to install the CFW and allways get an error at 73%. I have tried formatting the console but nothing works. So if anyone had the same problem and can help it would be appreciated.
Maybe not CFW, but they'll supposedly, at least, have essentially the same as a "tethered" jailbreak. As in not permanent CFW. But we don't know for sure yet.
Try re-doing the exploit and then trying again. If your USB device is 3.0, try a 2.0.

Exploit successful, instllalled Ferrox 4.82. I can figure out how to get emulators and roms on my PS3 on my own. Does an external drive need to be formatted FAT32 as well or will NTFS work?
NTFS isn't natively supported and always seemed iffy for me so I just went FAT32. I imagine someone will tell me to shut the fuck up though and tell you that it's flawless so maybe research it a bit.
Did you install Ferrox Cobra? If not, you're gonna have to do that if you want Webman and the ability to load PS3 ISOs. If you just want homebrew (I'd still recommend Cobra though, and Webman gives you system wide FTP), any CFW is fine, just grab some .PKGs and toss them on your PKG folder and install them from the Game menu on the XMB.
Before I get to excited... is cech-4204c hackable? I don´t really understand the list

I didn't know they made an MSU cart for the Genesis.... I knew about the SNES one and the library for that is rather large but the Genesis one has very few games+1
