Hacking 5.01 Exploit Leaked! Be on the lookout

While of course this sucks for whomever was hacked and means that we potentially have an unstable exploit now. We are on a more recent firmware. So this should begin to form a larger scene.

I for one know I will be porting my Binding of Isaac mod converter.

We have great Devs. This could be the start to building a bigger PS4 scene than it ever was. We could patch up the spots and make it the golden firmware. Sorry I got carried away..

This is a win loose situation. The cry babies get a half working exploit and the devs get screwed with their work leaking with no continued support....

OP missed the point. I believe the reason devs keep the exploit on latest version is so that they can work with those to explore more about the console. The holy grail should be fully compromise a console's security. Let's say there is one kernel exploit found, and pre maturely leaked; Sony patches it, then the devs will need more effort to find kernel exploit on newer version to continue their research. For Sony is able to find the exploit themselves, it may take time and that give some breathing space for the homebrew scene to do the research. Giving Sony more advantage then in the big picture, only slow down the progress to achieve the holy grail.
