Alright, I finally got it to work. Bits and pieces from different posts made me get this far. Big thanks to SirECK since that method worked for me. (Details can be found at the bottom)
Can someone help me with this, I'm unable to install the files.
I'm on 5.5.1U, I get to to part 3,

The guide states the files should be in
/storage_mlc/sys/update/0005001010041100/
/storage_mlc/sys/update/0005001B10051000/
/storage_mlc/sys/update/000500301001210A/
/storage_mlc/sys/update/000500301001A10A/

but when I ftp in my directory list is:
/storage_mlc/sys/update/nup/0005001b10051000
/storage_mlc/sys/update/nup/000500301001a10a
/storage_mlc/sys/update/nup/0005001010041100
/storage_mlc/sys/update/nup/000500301001210a

As you can see my directory has "nup" in the path, I'm not sure if this matters.

I have tried tried Crediar Wup installer 1.0 and put the file from the folder(s) listed above into the Install folder ( each folder at a time )
and get mcp_installgetinfo error
file files downloaded though the system are as follows.

Code:

Does this look right?

I have also tried to putting the 4 folder into the SD:\Install folder and tried using WUP Installer GX2 get error: Install failed (folder name) Confirm complete WUP files are in the folder.
and WuUP Installed Y Mod 1.3 and get an error MCP_InstallGetInfo 0xFFFBF3E2 Confirm complete WUP files are in the folder. Try power down.

If I let the system update by itself though the system I get Error code: 162-4023 and the update fails. Can still boot to RedNAND after the update fails.

I have also tried downloading the update files with Uwizard and for the most part the files are the same but they are missing the file extension and (.app, .h3) and the title.tmd is called tmd.560. etc.
I get the same errors listed above.

I have also tried to use OSTitleDownloader to download the update files to see if there are anything different but I an getting java.security.InvalidKeyException: Illegal key size I think related to the common.key file.

I have been at this for a few hours with out success

I have also used wupinstaller_y_mod_without_blacklist and still nothing.

Can someone please tell me what the heck I am doing wrong?
I was pretty much in the same seat as SirECK. I had followed the steps, I got my files and was ready to install, I just need the right tool it seems

I Tried this (Version 1.0)

I Tried this (Which is supposed to allow System Updates)

Error no install data found

I've just figured out that, we don't need to update rednand to 5.5.2 in order to download game update or download game on eshop.

When the update downloaded, just go ahead and install it. There will be an error when installing the update. It won't automatically download again.

Run NNUPatcher as homebrew then you can normally download game update or game on eshop.

Update: can play online without spoofing or updating to the latest firmware. Just run NNUPatcher after getting an error when update firmware (rednand of course).
This is how I had gone so far. The system cooperated every time the update failed and after a restart it let me play my games. Today this is not the case anymore.

I load the emunand this week and it update automatically, here works well the "normal" update
I will avoid this for as long as I can. Not sure what else happen to my console if I release it into the "wild".

OK, here my method...

- Looked at titles and version of 5.5.2 here for your region,
- then download needed titles with NUSGrabber using command: "NUSGrabber.exe titleID version",
- then use a modified version of WupInstallerGX2 to install system titles (just need to modify line 262 in "src/menu/installWindow.cpp" from "bool spoofFiles = false;" to "bool spoofFiles = true;" and compile. BE CARREFULL WITH THE USE OF THIS MODIFIED VERSION!!!)
- Then just go to settings menu and come back to wiiu menu,
- Enjoy!!!

I hope this will help.
I would have tried using NUSGrabber next if what SirECK posted didn't work.

So what did work then? This!

I know it looks exactly like the other one and even say it's version 1.0 but somehow this version is different. How do you get it? Same as me, see the quote below.
My only contribution to the method is that I used WinSCP with the FTPiiU Anywhere and I installed the files one by one.
The files themselves could not be in the folders they were in when you found them instead they had to be "naked" in the install folder which I had named to "Install" with a captial i.
Ill try and post back.

Found the App, if you search youtube for "[Wii U] How To Install SystemConfigTool" by DarkFlare you can find the link to the file.
Then followed the directions in post 1 except O I used OSTitleDownloader to get the files we need.
I do Have a question though, are we not allowed to host links to WUPInstaller2?
Anyway thanks Romag

It tells you in the very first post of this thread that you can only use the first version of wup installer lol.

It seems long posts are difficult to read for some. I used version 1.0 by Crediar which didn't work. Then I had to use a different version 1.0 which was named "wupinstaller2" when you looked at the files and folder instead of the description.

I was able to successfully perform this technique with the 5.5.3 update although the process wasn't as smooth of an experience as my manual update to 5.5.2. My rednand is now 5.5.3 with a sysnand of 5.5.1 and are LINKED (I can use the same hard drive/games/savedata).

Oddly, my system (USA) is downloading 6 Wii U titles unlike the 3 that were updated in 5.5.3 totaling 73mb:
0005001b10050000 (DeviceEula)
0005001b10051000 (ErrEula)
0005001b10054000 (key and cert files)
000500301001a10a (AOC Overlay App)
000500301001210a (Internet Browser)
0005001010041100 (VersionData)

I initially attempted to only install the 3 updated titles as visible via the tracker (https://yls8.mtheall.com/ninupdates/titlelist.php?date=09-03-18_08-00-36&sys=wup&reg=E). All that accomplished was changing my OS version to 5.5.3 in the settings and SystemConfigTool, but the OS would still report a new update in settings or when accessing eshop and begin downloading the same 73mb set of updates.

I then tried installing all 6 updates several times, but ended with identical results.

What seemed to do the trick was @thaikhoa 's recommendation to use SystemConfigTool's reboot function in the thread below. Thanks!

Hopefully somebody finds this post helpful!
