iOS 10.2.1 Jailbreak Released

exit-iphone-recovery-mode-ios-10-update.png

A jailbreak for iOS 10.2.1 has finally arrived, after 7 and a half months, dubbed "Saïgon"
This jailbreak is still in beta!

It uses exploits from well-known iOS developers, including Ian Beer, Adam Donenfeld and Luca Todesco.
To install, you must sideload the .ipa file using Cydia Impactor, meaning you'll have to sideload it again every 7 days (Unless you have a developer account).
It's semi-untethered, meaning it requires you to launch the app to jailbreak your device upon every reboot.

Supported Devices
  • iPhone SE (10.2.1)
  • iPhone 6/Plus (10.2.1)
  • iPhone 6s/Plus (10.2.1)
  • iPad Mini 4 (10.2.1) (Not tested)
  • iPad Air 2 (10.2.1)
  • iPhone 6s (10.3.1) (not yet)
Installation
  1. Download the .ipa file and Cydia Impactor
  2. Open Cydia Impactor and connect your device
  3. Drag the Saïgon.ipa file onto the Cydia Impactor window
  4. Enter your Apple ID (email and password)
  5. Open Settings → General → Profiles & Device Management
  6. Trust the new certificate → open saïgon
  7. Tap 'jailbreak' and enjoy!

I'm just waiting for Apple to remove the data jack next, so jailbreakers have nothing to work with. I believe all the web browser based jailbreakes are fixed, correct? They won't have an attack vector left, and wireless charging has been around forever it seems.

This is cool, i was not expecting a jailbreak for 10.2 but looks like it is finally here! Awesome.

I plan on getting an SE soon but that will likely be on Latest OS and thus unable to run any type of jailbreaks, at least right now.

and Android isn't?....

Well said!

Ofcourse Android is a gaming system. But it is not locked as Apple is. So that is why this can be seen as frontpage news. There are a lot more games then just those examples. A lot of indie games are also released on there... games = games

I like the openness of having a jailbroken phone, but this game is getting old. I'd always jailbreak my phone ever since the 3g. The jailbreak has been broken since 10, I think. I might go to Android now. *looking at pixel2

Looking to upgrade from my iphone 5 to an iphone 7 and I am struggling to find a new one on ios 10.0.1 - 10.1.x. This has nothing to do with the thread but thought maybe someone could give me some pointers.

It's always nice to see progress in the jailbreak community. Keep it up!

great for people that don't play any mobile game and like to tweak their phones.

As for Gacha game players.
We are now in a time where the iPhone 6 lags at certain gacha games (most well known in Fate/Grand Order, Granblue Fantasy and even some Bamco games)
And next year if this pacing keeps up then probably even the iPhone 6S will show its age.

in the end. This isn't the best news for gacha game players ^^

Honestly, I doubt it. The iPhone 6 wasn't a big of an upgrade on the hardware side.

stop playing really shitty anime games and get a life
On cydia there are tweaks to speed up your device and animations. Try those.

Everyone complains that their iPhone has updated to iOS 11. Unable to use the exploit.
iOS users have to use Exploits.... Android users don't....

Does this mean in this case, Android > iOS. Oh, wait~ That's most of the time anyways.

*Cough* Don't kill me *Cough*
