Thanks for the fast reply! Should I use any specific card, or does it matter?

Reason I was concerned is, given I've used a R4i for so long I was looking at the first linked Card in the 3ds.Guide page, the R4i Gold 3DS RTS, but it has a large bold message saying "Please note that the card can not play nds games any more after it is flashed ntrboothax." Does that mean it looses it's playing capability after flashing ntrboot (and can it be restored after installing ntrboot), or does that mean that card is no longer valid period for NDS games? If I can use my old card, it may not honestly matter, but wanting to make sure before I put money twords this. Or would it be best to just go for Acekard 2i (which doesn't have that warning, and the guide says this doesn't apply to it), all together? Reading the guide alone I'm not 100% sure if I can revert the R4i Gold 3DS card, and if it is in fact still needed after initial installation.

the flashcart can't be used for games until the original flash is restored, removing ntrboot.

With pkhex i removed the pikachu cap mystery gift. i also clicked "yes" when asked if i wanted it to change from used to unused.

However i cannot redeem the new cap pikachu today, it still tells me that i already redeemed it.

any tips?

So you got it, then you deleted the wondercard, then tried to receive it again? Some events are flagged serverside with your game save like game sync. You have to start a new save.

Hey, been searching for hours, what to get a flash card that will work and get conflicting stories.
Just got myself the new 3DS XL SNES Edition, want to NTRboot and play 3DS coms plus 8-16bit emulation.
Q Will the R4i Gold 3DS do it or do I need the R4i Gold 3DS Deluxe Edition?
Q on CFW will any card allow you to add 3DS Roms?

After you've used it to install cfw you don't need to use a flashcard to play games on it.

the flashcard is only to install cfw. afterwards you can play 3ds roms (in .cia format) using the systems eternal sd card only . . . at this point the flashcard can be used to hack other systems or reverted back to its original state to be used with .nds roms

They can, but if you don't want to pay ~20$ for a flashcard you should get one with 11.3 or lower firmware

I have kind of an odd situation here maybe, but I've run out of ideas so i'm asking for help.

Long story short, I have a save on Monster Hunter XX for the 3DS that I let a friend use to import and create his character on the Switch version of the game. However, the game has some method of detecting that we are both the same user and will not let us both be online at the same time. I even tried deleting all my save data and starting a new file and it still didn't work, which I can only assume means that it is detecting my 3DS itself (there was never any use of Nintendo ID or anything when transferring the save to the Switch)

So basically I guess I am looking for a way to change the 3DS ID or whatever so that it will be detected as a different device. My #1 option is probably factory reset since I can export my save to the system file and then import it back in later, but I'm not even sure if that would solve my problem.

I guess what I'm looking for is more information on how the 3DS really works behind the scenes as much as a specific solution, at least as far as the device identifying itself is concerned.

There is. but you need 100 posts to be able to access it. Anything posted outside of there is frowned upon and will likely be removed quickly.
