Is there any disadvantage to using the forwarder versus the script and installing each game individually?
disavantage= noone, the reason people want the individual autoboot isntalls is becuase they can store the isos on nand or wiiu hdd, if you solely use the fowarder you need isos on sd card since nomral usb does not work on wiivc injects.

I can't seem to play any gamecube game with a 16:9 aspect ratio even if I enable "force widescreen". What am I doing wrong?
force wiiu widescree and then force widescreen too.

Ah, limited to SD card, thank you. Lastly, since it's just Nintedont, I don't need any additional CIOS, right?

well no both on normal vwii and wiivc inject nintendont rusn perfectly without any cios as long as you have a homebrew channel on vwii, and on vwii you can use fat32 usb hdd for isos.

Right, I have no CIOS. Buuuuuut if I'm using Ploggy's forwarder for Nitnendont with gamepad patching, you said I have to run games from SD card, not a hard drive? Or can I still use a hard drive? (I know I can't use the same hdd as I use for my Wii U games, that's not what I'm asking). Thanks again friend!

any fowarder insjected on wiivc can only use sd card for isos like i said.

wiivc injection(includes ploggys fowarder) SD only or single games installs on wiiu nand or wiiu formated hdd and gamepad acess.

VWII the normal vwii can be both sd or usb fat32 but no gamepad acess.

sadly no it will always boot disc1 and then when it tries to load your save from main menu of the game it will change to disc2 automaticaly.

That's actually pretty good, it would be a little difficult for Nintendot to keep track of variable data individually for each game, but this solution works great, as long as autoboot is viable. Thanks for the help!

This is probably a stupid question but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I left my wiimotes at a different place and I'm trying to play GCN VC but I can't select any of the display options without a wiimote. Is there a way to get past this screen? It's frustrating

What @dj_skual said, you only need to do this one time with one game (for example, you launch animal crossing to create a configuration file for nintendont and all games will use that config file).

The re-write I'm working on has a menu where you can download the latest version of nintendont to your SD card and generate a configuration file from the app, so you won't have to do this in the future.

Thank you for your prompt reply! on a side now, when the guide says "wii homebrew", is it refering to things like nintendont, wiisxr, etc. In other words, does this script create VC injects for those apps, or is the inject only capable of being applied to the game itself? thanks again.

For something like Nintendont, you should only need to find a forwarder channel to put in the Source Files as boot.dol, no title ID necessary. The title ID is for when you're trying to inject a WiiWare game and have the channel booter as your boot.dol.

Thanks for clearing that up. Is that a hard limitation or something that might be able to be patched in the future? Wii U still has a 300 game limitation, right?

yeah the wiiu still has a 300 games limit and no that wont be fixed becuase wiivc uses the usb code to read from wiiu nand so you cant use it to read a fat32 usb hdd unfortunely.

But "WiiU Widescreen" appears grayed out for me...
wiiu widescreen appears greyed out? lol are you on actual wii? or made one of those forced 4:3 fowarders, autobooters?

ok, my success was as follows:

1. install haxchi on your wii u with WUP installer gx2 and homebrew channel per the guide (i chose not to use coldboot haxchi CBHC)
2. load nintendont on your sd card and install a forwarder channel on your wii u home menu, making sure to boot haxchi while holding b (enabling sigpatch mode) then install forwarder channel. (in the case of no coldboot).
3. copy your gamecube backup, properly renamed according to nintendont instructions, to the root of your sd card at /games
4. enable sigpatch mode (hold b on haxchi), run nintendont once and select your settings. start the game from the sd card then exit. this should have generated a config file for nintendont, which will allow for for games to autoboot.
5.. run gamecube/wii game backup through this script on your windows pc with required graphics banner files, which can be found on these forums for wii u, making sure to select the autoboot option when prompted
6. copy the completed WUP install package to your sd card under /install, then install it via WUP installer gx2
7. an icon will be created on the wii u home menu. as long as you ran any game at least via sd card, allowing nintedont to generate a config file, you can now run the wup installed version from wii u home menu.

Use a forwarder to launch Nintendont on its own, then change settings with gamepad then launch any game from SD to save the settings.

The Nintendont forwarder I found in here on the nintendont thread is a wad. I already installed it on vWii. now, how do I make a WiiU forwarder?
