Just bought a used PS Vita for coding something on this console, but need help for setting up the Henkaku Henso.

The Console is obviously on 3.60, it has Idu mode enabled (so starts in demo mode) but don't know anything else on it's configuration.

Also the console has the PSN account of the previous owner.

I want to remove the IDU mode, format the console and start a clean instal of Henkaku Henso.

Is there anything I have to know for avoiding problems or bricks? Formatting the console will remove the idu mode?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm not 100% sure if formatting will revert modes. It'd be best to reset it to CEX and then reformat.

Hold L+R+D-Pad Up+Start, which will put you into CEX mode which will give you back all the system apps and such.

Then open the browser, install Henkaku by going to henkaku.xyz, and then you can use the IDU mode app (which should be installed, since it's in IDU mode) to reset the console back to normal CEX mode.

Then you can format, install Henkaku again from the browser, and install the enso VPK and run it for permanent Henkaku

Porting something to Vite is my idea. I shouls have started last summer, but my son updated his vita to 3.61

Now, set the DNS to block updates (seems to work) and installed henkaku.

IDU app is not installed, so I have to install it first, and the proced formattinf ad installing henkaku again.

Last question: To install a vpk I have to put it on the memory card (using the molecule shell FTP server I think) or there is a way to download it directly from the web?

For small vpk ftp is probably easier but for large files you can use USB through vitashell by pressing start for options and selecting it under select button to either USB or ftp.

Idu mode vpk installed, I ran it and pressed O to clear IDU Mode. Then I pressed a key to exit the app and pressed the power button some seconds to shutdown the console.

But when I reboot it The demo mode is still on....

Did this 3 times and nothing.

Any hint?

Ok. I enabled unsafe homebrew in Molecular Shell and now it's done.

Thank you. Now I'm going to format and install everything.

If I'm not wrong Zelda 3T is not ported on VITA, and since I just released it on 3DS could be a good first homebrew.

Is Unsafe mode enabled in Molecular Shell/Henkaku Settings (which would be located in the official settings app)? It might have reset that setting, so IDU mode can't set the mode properly.

EDIT: Ah, well I see you fixed it yourself :P

Now I'm going to format.

Just checked that the DNS settings I inserted makes the FW3.60 to be the latest.

When I try to format, the system says I have to update. Is this safe?

You should be able to ignore it. Otherwise, you can just reset while in Airplane mode, shouldn't ask you after that.

Not so easy. With airplane mode I cant go on. Updating the systems says I'm on the latest FW, but reset doesn't go on (still requires an update).
