Hi there,

Total newbie with these things so bare with me!. I've had my n3DS soft modded for well over a year now, not had a single issue with it. I was mid game yesterday and decided I wanted to turn the brightness down so pressed the home button to do so. The console then displayed an error screen and now just boots up with a blue screen displaying the following error.

bootrom 8046 errcode: 00f800fe 00000000 00000000 00000080 00080000

I've tried google searching this and there doesn't seem to be much out there for this particular code.

I was just wondering what my options are or if anyone has any advice or tutorials to fix this before I bin it with my ever increasing bad mood!.

Thanks in advance.

Thought as much, didn't know if because of the unusual error code that it may be a different case but just wanted some opinions before I throw it away.

y to say, but that thing is most likely a paper weight :/

No it was brand new on release, I've had it a few years so it's not too bad just not the ideal timing to be buying a replacement one!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Looking at the codes
00F800FE FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF 00000080 00800000 NAND error when DAT1 was used as DAT0.

Anyone know what this means or even how it happened? I'm chalking it up to bad luck at the moment

No it was soft mod.

Thanks for the advice everyone, looks like it's a throw away one and I'll just save towards a Switch.

This is the guide you'll need to follow. All compatible cards are listed with pictures. It may or may not work but it's definitely worth trying. Even if it doesn't you have a compatible flashcart that can hack your new console, if you choose to buy another one.

I've got one of the cards so that's a start. Will it automatically boot into it as I'm on the blue screen the second I power on

You have to put a magnet where the speaker would land if the screen was closed(somewhere under the B button) and perform the key combo(hold X, Start, Select and power on) with the magnet in place.

You'll need to follow the guide I linked in order to flash the flashcart and then place files in their corresponding places in order to try and fix your console.

Have tried following the guide and i'm still stuck with the blue screen. I think it's a goner sadly :(
