Hacking I'm an idiot; I gave my friend my Wii U's SD card

Long story short - for whatever reason, I had my Wii U's SD card out on my desk, and let my friend format and use it. The data on it is long gone.

My Wii U is on 5.5.1. I have Haxchi on it (I didn't bother having it run unsigned code on boot), and a 2TB HDD hooked up to it with some games.

I can't run Haxchi anymore, and embarrassingly, I'm not sure what a new SD card would need to run everything properly. What do I need to do in order to run Haxchi again?

I still have a 'Wii U Hax' folder on my PC with some stuff on it, but I don't remember what's what anymore.

Apologies for my ineptitude, and thank you to anyone willing to help me out.

Lol Haxchi is installed on system memory, it can't boot anything because there's no hombrew files on the SD card. Just drag the files there

Just download the starter pack using Wii U USB Helper

Prepare for more lols, 'cause I don't see the 'starter pack' in the USB Helper haha.

Now, I DO have an IOSU folder on my PC with a 'homebrew' 2.0 and 'wiiu' folder in there. Not sure if that's still useful to me.

I modded my Wii U pretty shortly after RedNAND became available, and haven't looked at it since, so I completely forgot how this whole thing was set up.

I hate to bump this thread up again, but I'm still not having any success. I have the haxchi config file on the root of my SD card, and the wiiu folder on the root, as well. I can't boot into CFW.

My filepath on the SD card is wiiu -> apps -> appstore, cfwbooter, haxchi, homebrew_launcher, wup_installer.

That's the correct folder, right?

I went a year without looking at my Wii U, so I've forgotten how this whole thing is set up, and don't want to screw anything up by attempting to start over with the CFW setup.

The config.txt must be configured as it was before, in other words it means that each button has to be mapped accordingly as it was before.
Usual config is:
a=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
b=wiiu/apps/cfw_booter/cfw_booter.elf
default=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
If you can take a guess, what should boot by default then put it here.
'sysmenu' argument [If it was even used] which will boot you into CFW by default if it's in default category should work.

I tried this config - no dice. I originally had fw.img (or something similar to that) mapped to the 'a' button, but my default was the same path as the one you mentioned above.

I will say that I never changed the default filepath, and only ever messed with whatever the 'a' button was mapped to. My default has remained the same, I believe.

I will also say that I originally set this up right after CFW was available on the WiiU, so I'm not sure if my setup is "outdated" in any sort of way.

Let's say I can't get my config.txt to cooperate, and I need to start over. How should I go about that, at this point?

It doesn't matter. The config file is only used when installing or reinstalling Haxchi.

Is going from 'not being able to boot haxchi' to 'coldboot into CFW' a reasonable effort? Or should I get this haxchi business sorted out, first?
Eh, yes. Sounds like brick material to me.

Can you go into a bit more detail about what happens when you run haxchi?

Also what is your SD card formatted as? Try using the HP tool to format it and make sure it's Fat32

The haxchi logo appears, screen goes black, and then it goes to the white screen with "Wii U Menu" displayed in the center. It never leaves this screen. I still get the "menu loading" sounds, so it's not completely locked up, but it just stays at this screen.

SD card is confirmed FAT 32; I re-formatted just to make sure.

Haxchi relies on config.txt in root of SDCard. If incorrect config is present or no config at all, it will throw -2 or -3 error.
I don't think this is true. As I understand it HaxChi only uses the config when you install it. The minus error is usually from not finding whatever you had config.txt default to when you installed HaxChi (HBL in most cases). I'm pretty sure you can delete, change and alter config.txt after install and it won't affect HaxChi.
