will the vc crystal be able to trade with the offical gs when they come out im going to do that to transfer my pokemon to ultra sun andm oon
If the netcode wasn't moved, the official patches are still fine for hacks
If it was, then it's the hack developer's problem to supply the new offsets
It's literally the first 5 steps in the OP, except don't use that junk that is Braindump, but dump the .app = CXI using godmode9 (http://gbatemp.net/posts/7502231/)
The newest versions of ctrtool can automatically decrypt even encrypted cia/ncch, so you don't even need a console
Like toomanyluigis, I want to wireless patch a gen 1 rom hack. When I attempt the first 5 steps the command prompt only shows a list of options of what I can do with the tool. What is the exact text I need in the command prompt to extract the patch?
And once I extract the patch how do I apply it to a rom hack?
Screenshots would be awesome but and advice would be appreciated.

@TheStoneBanana have you seen the Wireless Patches that were included with the Gen 2 VC? Apparently they left the patches for Crystal in there too.

ahahaha they left the patches for Pokemon Crystal's VC release in the GS VC ROMFS -- "CGBBXTJ0.534.patch". Classic.

Just for reference: CGBBYTE1.784.patch is the patch for US/EU, the one Scires said it's for the Jap version.
And yes, these patches work fine, I've patched Crystal US and the Spanish version and they work perfectly.
No, I haven't gotten a chance to take a peek at them yet.
Would anyone be willing to compare the patches, just to see how similar they are? I'm curious as to what I did correctly/incorrectly in comparison to what Nintendo officially has made.
Nope, the rom name needs to change because the game will see 2 roms in the same folder and load one at random (gold or crystal)

Which means renaming it to the same name as the patch file he needs to use or expect a crash. The RomFS redirection will make the game see 2 roms instead of one if set up this way.

Sorry for the double post but has anyone managed to replace the japanese version of crystal over gold/silver on the new VC? i've managed to get both english and spanish working but the japanese rom keeps crashes every time.

@K3Nv2 I did that using Citra for 3DS games. Bottom screen was my smartphone. Until I got the touch screen.
