hi all,
recently, I saw this issue come up with rants from people saying that
Nintendo is going to make "some games require SD card usage in order to function"
um, which games does this affect?

I.e do "Physical games" count or just "digital ones" from shop that you bought?

I'm mostly going physical, so I "shouldn't" have a issue with this?

do these games need SD card or such?

Super Mario Odyssey
Fire Emblem Warroirs

also, which games need SD card to work like NBA 2018 has?

Mario Odyssey and Fire Emblem Warriors have not been announced to require a Micro SD, and I wouldn't expect them to given their file size. Typically, it'll be a 3rd Party developer releasing a game of significant size that doesn't want to pay for a larger cartridge. The only physical game so far that requires it is NBA 2k18 like you've said (to the extent of my knowledge anyway).

Only NBA2k18 & Dragon Quest 9/10 needs an sd, because of their sheer ridiculous file size.

nice, I was worried for a bit, the videos I've seen all rant about how: Nintendo sucks, the switch storage is GAY, etc"
I have a 32gb sd card, since I'm going all physical I probably won\t need a bigger one for games, plus I only get "specific"/"certain" games that peak/capture my interest.

Really, the thing people should be complaining about is how the saves are locked to the system storage, when games like NBA, Lego Worlds, and Minecraft have saves that are gigabytes large. Between those three, you're ~9GB down.

yeah, but people are complaining about the wrong thing instead :( when they "should" be coplainning about "saves being system locked" and unable to transfer to SD card,
on ps4, you can move/copy your saves from the ps4 to safekeeping etc, on switch, nope sorry, lose your hard earned save: your F'ucked :(
I wonder if Nintendo will bring the Option of recording video on switch like how you can save screenshots?

I'm fairly sure they said they would, but they also said that TV thing would come to the Wii U in Europe, and we never saw that lol

You might need a bigger one for games, depending on what games you play. If the extra data was small enough to fit on the 32GB internal storage then they wouldn't specifically state that some games will require a SD card.
If the extra data is only slightly too big to fit on the internal storage (due to the OS taking up some of the space) then it would fit on a 32GB MicroSD, but it would take up the whole card so it's hardly optimal.

Already confirmed that at some point they re updating the screenshot button to be a screen capture button. This was ages ago though. Pretty sure it was in video form that they said this.

Resident evil revelation 1-2, come physical, but 2 it need to be downloaded (2in1 but 2 is only digital)

Maybe
Doom
Wolfenstein 2
Xenoblade 2

Well third party try to port and not make a new game, so maybe is more benefit in time to put all they thing it needed, like textures in 720P and 900P or 1080P and that need GB...
