After being rumored at thanks to a leaked source, Capcom has officially confirmed that the cult classic Okami will be making its way to current gen systems. Capcom's press release states that the game will be releasing for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on December 12, for £15.99 / €19.99 / $19.99. Okami HD will also support 4K resolutions on the PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and PC, while also allowing for players to use a 4:3 aspect ratio, as the game originally had when it launched back in 2006.

I think it has to do with the unpleasent experience of porting it to the wii back then. Either way a great game. Still don't understand why Japan value teeth so much. New game plus is brutally easy with 100%.
umm, if they think the switch is anything like the wii that is 2 systems before the switch even after making games for it(the switch) already they must be triping hard on the finest drugs money can buy

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Did Sony pay Capcom to avoid Switch again?
but why xb1 though...? or is sony really just out to screw ninty since there pissed that ninty did what sony couldn't with the vita successfully

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

nb4 you can do the drawing with the mouse on pc o.o though I guess it could be possible with the touch pad on the ps4, though touch would be perfect with handheld mode on the switch capcom, and the switch's default controllers nativly support motion controls which was great on the wii version, common capcom, this is a massively missed opportunity..unless your waiting to tell us till the direct in which case time to throw okami onto the hype train for me, toot toot

So is this game good? I mean it has capcom on the label but I'm not familiar with it outside the wolf creature was in marvel vs capcom 3.
It was made by Clover Studio, most of which split off to form Platinum Games. It's a big adventure game that I don't hesitate to mention in the same breath as Zelda.

obviously the switch gets made last, if ever, because it's a different architecture. it takes more time and effort for a different architecture than what equates to different chipsets for the pc/ps4/xbox1

Nintendo made it easier to port using the big and popular tools, like unity or unreal, but if something inhouse is used, i'm guessing its a much harder transition.

since xbox/ps4 are essentially specialized pcs, they've really just made the one version :P

It'll be on the Switch. However, it's funny how people care mostly because all the other consoles are getting it, and not because of the game itself. Why do I say this? Because this game really underperformed on all of its rereleases. Sure, it's critically acclaimed, though, financially not.

These are wonderful news! I always wanted to play the HD version on PC. But does it have any gameplay changes?
There's one flaw in this game that annoyed me, and that's Sei-An doesn't have a Ultimate Origin Mirror. And I
assume it was a mistake by the developers because every other important location has one. Did they change this?

That I agree too. That's why I love the Wii version so much :D

PS3 version was the best of both worlds. Motion controls were even better than on the Wii, and you had the option of classic controls.

I know everyone hated the Playstation Wii, but if you could deal with the calibration at the beginning of every session, it was fucking magic.

I had a short play of this on Wii & I really liked it

I played it on the Wii and I think it´s very good 9/10 and Okamiden DS gets 8.5/10
Wait what - this was released on DS ??... Now I've gotta google & see this

So far i see no post convincing me of playing the game, so maybe I'll find a demo somewhere. The interest of a DS game, seem unappealing that it might be one of those cursed games that uses only touch screen controls.

Sometimes if the calibration was off, you'd have to calibrate it again. It took all of two seconds, but it was still annoying.

It was also totally worth it. It just felt amazing to play that way. Going from painting to movement to painting again was basically seamless, which was my biggest complaint of the original control scheme.
