Nintendo Increases SNES Classic Inventory, NES Classic Returning to Stores

SNES_Mini_Box.jpg

The NES Classic was a monumental success when it released last year. Originally it was a "limited edition" product, and the number manufactured was relatively low. Scalpers tore into them, sometimes selling them for over $500 on various auctions sites as they were sold out everywhere. Well, those unlucky few who didn't manage to nab a NES Classic can rejoice; Nintendo is manufacturing and shipping more NES Classic's to stores in 2018!

Along with this news, Nintendo also announced that the inventory for the SNES Classic is also being increased to help avoid the same scalping situation as last year.

Due to incredible demand for the upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, Nintendo plans to ship the retro-inspired product into 2018. Originally, shipments were announced to cease at the end of this calendar year.
...
Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system with new shipments. More information about the timing of the return of NES Classic Edition will be announced in the future.

Need to block anything involving nes and snes classic. The constant crying really shows the reliance we have on technology. Countless methods to enjoy classic games..

Excellent. I hadn't planned on paying any more than retail for these. If there are loads, it'd be a nice gift for nieces and nephews. Because it's a lot easier for them to play and their parents to understand what it is.

Tell me how the average consumer can legally play the 30 games included in the NES Classic on their modern television using an NES-styled controller for $60 or less.

I want to see the eyes of those who bought the classics and upped their prices like shits on Ebay and other sites, and feed on those tears.

the scalpers are probably laughing to the bank, cause they sold 3-4 at least already and people still want them even more, and us gamers are bitching or crying while looking at raspberry pi cases to fill the void in our heart....

For what it's worth, the scalping game will still be pretty strong. First off, Nintendo have said they're producing more for 2018. Now what about those kiddies that want one for Christmas? Scalper heaven, my dear friend. And when Nintendo say they're making more for 2018, this could be just the same as them saying they'd up their stock for the initial wave of SNES Minis. Oh boy, they sure didn't sell out just as fast, and didn't get scalped half as bad lol.

In all honesty though, this is definitely a good thing. It means the patient ones among us can wait for the later wave and pick one up if we're quick-fingered enough. In an odd way, it satisfies every party. Scalpers can still scalp, consumers can get their toy for RRP (hopefully maybe).
