So this isnt really a big deal, yet, it hasnt happened again since the first time, but I wanted to ask why out of curiosity and for a fix if it happens again.

So I had my 3ds on for a long time, like longer than anyone really should lol, by charging and keeping the lid closed, the 3ds was on for like a day straight, maybe longer i cant remember. I know this isnt good for it, I don't plan on doing that again lol. Anyway I was playing some games with no sound issues, then for pretty much no reason I decided to open Flipnote Studio 3D, and after a few seconds my 3DS started freaking out. The video was fine but every few seconds it would make a mix between static, the old dial up internet sound and some beeping. (at least i remember it that way) the normal audio would work, overlapping this sound, and i quit to the menu and it stopped, or at least happened less frequently, and would happen more often whenever i entered Flipnote. I restarted and it hasnt happened since, even after opening Flipnote.

Do any of you know why this happened? is this a sign of things to come? You tell me.

if i were to guess it would probably be that it was on so long the RAM got corrupt or something. idk. if it hasn't happened since it is nothing to worry about

It uh, happened again. I opened settings and it happened again. And it happened right after a restart. Im getting a tad worried now if im going to be honest. Like last time it only happened while in the app, exiting fixed it

Well, in this situation you either open it up or just headphones 100% of the time. you could always get like mini speakers or something and connect it via the audio jack and tape it to the back of the system.

damn.

I guess I don't use speakers very much anyway but I don't like the idea of my 3DS being "broken" per-se... Gonna google some stuff to see if others have the same issue, if not then I guess ill have to keep a spare pair of headphones on at all times :/

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

My "research" has concluded that im just boned pretty much lol. Apperentally from what I can tell the reasons it happens is:

Max volume. Guilty as charged. I don't always use the speakers, but when I do, it's on max volume.
The 3D slider messes up?? This seems to cause a "low buzzing" not the satanic noises I hear from my issue.
Very loud games/sound effects. It happened on Flipnote and Settings. Theres basically no/the absolute smallest bit of sound ever so...
Speakers are dying. Probably my case, this 3DS is old as crap so it makes sense. I miiight replace them if I can but probably not. Like I said I can live with headphones.

If it happens again, instead of just rebooting im going to run some tests, like messing with the volume/3D slider and seeing what apps cause it and such.
