Got a DLC cia that works on Luma but not on Gateway, which I believe has something to do with the packing method.
I wonder how do you repack the cia so it works on Gateway?
Thank you!

don't know how to do it, but you could try get the dlc from another site, if the dlc file size is different then it might work on gw
I know the mighty gunvolt burst dlc from that iso site doesn't work on gw, but the one from a chinese site works on gw

Thanks guys. But its an edited (translated) DLC cia, not something official.
Is there a way like 1. install on Luma to get it working 2. dump from Luma 3. somehow the dump can work on GW?

You can boot Luma in emuNAND and install it there, then boot Gateway. To boot Luma in emuNAND, hold Select on boot and select autoboot emuNAND, then Start to save.

I don't have emuNAND, only sysNAND, but I did what you said, i.e. installed on Luma, loaded the game to check, it worked, switched to GW, loaded the game, no DLC was found.
Does it make a different on emuNAND?

I would just skip gateway for it.
Too bad, I need GW for it...

You really need to have an emuNAND for Gateway. If you accidentally update sysNAND, you will either be updated to latest stock firmware and lose all hax (old 3DS) or be bricked (new 3DS). I'm not sure why it isn't found in Gateway mode though, that is strange. Are you loading the game the same way (as a cia)?

Bricking is no longer an issue with B9S, but it's still a bad idea.

Encrypt the CIA with 0-key or with the encrypt NCCH option in Decrypt9 (GM9 should have such an option too, but I have no idea where it would be)
If it still doesn't work after that, you probably have to load NTR-CFW with the language emulation plugin, DLC with out of region games normally doesn't work otherwise.
Edit: Actually GW has language emulation built in to the MultiROM menu now, I forgot about that.

It's impossible to use custom DLC with Gateway, and there's nothing you can do about it.
As far as I can tell, Gateway doesn't patch signature checks for non-executable NCCH's at all, that's why modified DLC, download play, e-manuals, etc. won't work, no matter what you do with them.
People have asked GW team to fix this several times, but, of course, GW team doesn't care.
