Unfortunately, Walmart was likely never supposed to do any preorders at all. Nintendo seems to not want anyone doing preorders, just like last year. It was probably not even a technical glitch. More likely, a representative of the Big N contacted Walmart Corporate and now people got screwed over. I truly hope these are gossip spread rumors, and you get one. Have a back up plan, just in case. Ground Zero is where it is at. My system is already secured on day 1. But, it was not an easy task to pull off. I will gladly help anyone get theirs, if at all possible to. I helped a good 68+ people find the Mini NES. It required a lot of patience and perseverance. But, it was worth it to help so many out.

Did you try flashing custom kernel while having a dump already in Hakchi2 folder.
As long as mine is processing I'm good!

What I am saying is, you do not need to dump the kernel. If you have done systems before, dump folder will already be present.

ive tried both with and without a kernel, without getting into FEL mod i cant load modules, cant flash a custom kernel cant load games, it does nothing

I have never had a problem with any NES I have helped people with. Did you try Zadig? What are you plugging the usb cable into, a hub or a direct connection to a usb port?

You using virus protection, such as Norton?

And, do you have another computer?

Well, you can cause a scene with Corporate and get them to honor your preorder, if it does get canceled. Be relentless.
Mine got cancelled for sure. I got the initial email stating that it was a mistake. Right after that I got another email stating that the order had changed. When I logged into my account at walmart.com, it showed that the "delivered by" date actually moved up from October 7 to September 29th. Then, about an hour ago, I got yet another email stating that the order was cancelled and my order on walmart.com shows up as "Canceled" now. :(

So any tips on getting them to honor my pre-order?

directly into the PC, i tried 2 different ones that have both worked on many other NTSC consoles
no virus stuff, no windows defender, nothing
tried running as admin and everything i could think of
tried all the USB ports, a few known good working USB wires, nothing

Because of HDMI, I don't think there is such thing as PAL/NTSC now.
There might be some differences in software such as European versions (traditional PAL region) having different languages compared to the US?
Maybe this could be causing a conflict if the other console you have done are US purchased versions?

- FYI my NES Mini is a United Kingdom (Euro) version.

If Nintendo has told Walmart not to do any preorders, there is no amount of calling and threatening, pleading, or anything else that anyone can do to make them honor it. They returned the money and by law is all they have to do. You MIGHT get a gift card, but that's it.

Think of it this way: Nintendo can ban Walmart from selling any of their products in the future. It would be a huge battle and I don't know who would win, but it would definitely last a long time. Does Walmart want to test that? I don't think so.

Hey, is it possible to actually dump/extract the base games from the NES Classic, by using hakchi2? Would love to rip the games so I can use them on a RetroPie for example, while keeping my NES Classic as original as possible, without flashing custom kernels on it etc. So, is it possible, what I want to achieve?

They will not directly honor the preorder. But, I can state from experience, same thing happened to me last year with the Mini NES. I successfully secured it online, then had it canceled. I showed up at the store, on day one, there were over 100 people in line. I walked to the front of the line and asked to talk to a manager. I explained the situation to the manager, and they gave me my system. I was very polite, not irate. I had "receipt" of proof of purchase. I said a receipt should take priority over someone who just shows up. I also asked them to check their security cameras, because I had been sitting in the parking lot for 4 hours before anyone else showed up and got in line. The manager put the system aside, and I watched a good 20+ people buy theirs before I finally got confirmation that I could have it. Now, then...This is where it gets very interesting. I furthermore emailed Corporate, explaining how well the manager handled things. I said, if there ever IS an SNES Mini (without even knowing there WOULD actually be one), I wanted a guarantee that I could walk in on day one and be the first to get it. Surprisingly, after talking to the store manager, I am absolutely guaranteed one on day one. To be honest, if the Mini SNES is incapable of being hacked, I will not be keeping it. I will offer it, at cost to the two people who posted here, that their preorders had been canceled. But, if I am able to secure any additional systems on day one, I will also let you guys know. When the Mini NES first came out, I was at work. I spent literally every free minute, breaks, lunch, etc. from 11:59 pm and on trying to "buy" a system. Every single site crashed. I was finally able to get one around 4:21 AM, then another at 6:30 am. I also got in line at one store, and was 4th in line, so had no issue getting a system...even though they only had 6. But, no go on that pesky controller! Never ever found one of those! While waiting in line, others showed up and I helped as many as I could find them online, like I did. After getting my system, I went to the store I mentioned at the beginning of this post. I went through all of this trouble because my one friend really wanted a system, too. He was unable to go and wait like me, since he was predisposed for that moment in time. But, anyways, that crazy, hectic day, from 6 am til 11 am, I found 3 systems locally, 2 of which went to friends...And, I helped 11 others find theirs too. After that day, I kept being keen on finding more, and helped a good 68+ find them. Every person that got one for a true reason, rather than for resell purposes, made me content. Even my wife told me I should jump on the bandwagon and sell it. But, I absolutely refused to profit off of it. I cannot stand the practice, as it ruins gaming for all of us. Price gouging is also one reason that makes Emulation more attractive, in many instances. Yes, the real deal can be awesome. But, is it worth the price of a used car? Not everyone has such entitlement:) The only advice I can say is, if you are not adamant enough and focused enough on day 1, you will probably never get a system. I literally told a half dozen friends on day one where they could get systems, and they didn't care. They said, "I will get one another time". I said, this is probably your "final" chance dude/dudette! Noone listened, and later on when I had an extra system...unfortunately, I gave priority to those who "were" looking for one since day one, rather than those who didn't take day one seriously enough to bother. Sorry for the long post! But, it comes with the territory of how much hell many of us went through trying to get a damned system!

My wife and I got ours on day one as well. I wasn't going to wait. I have her willing to wait for the SNES. I need to try to get 2. One for me and one for my brother. He wanted a NES, but wasn't able to get out and get one so he really wants the SNES. Hopefully it can be modded, but I don't know if he actually cares about that like I do. Anyways, good luck to all in September.

you're not running the HDMI out at the same time as the usb, are you ? That shouldn't be a problem, unless your computer isn't plugged in when you're doing it. That's what I noticed with me. My laptop wasn't plugged in and I had the HDMI plugged in at the same time. I got all kinds of errors.

That's probably not your problem. But it's just an idea.

If you can get your hands on 3 of the SNES classics, let me know. I'd LOVE to not have to wait months to get one of these like I did with the nes classic.

Hi! One question.
How many games are recomendable to upload in a main menu with NO folders? My idea is to choose 70-80 NES games. No retroarch, thumbnails.hmod as the only mod. I think 30-40 gamrs are recomendable but using folder system. Any suggestion?

Generally, around 102 Games is the Breaking Point. And, at close to 100 Games, you will lose some functionality as far as having 4 slots per game, for saves. You will be able to do 70-80 fine, as long as you are on newer versions of hakchi2. If you do too many, you will end up with a black screen when trying to load them.

Any time I try and run the application, it gives me this error. Tried fixing Microsoft network things and it still didn't fix it.

Anyone successful with using in-game save for PS1 games? I'm playing NBA Hangtime, I create a custome character. Use the in game save state, exit out. I come back to the game and it does not save... any idea or suggestions?

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.

Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
