Hi there,
I have a PS3 that can be nor flashed, but I am curious which e3 flasher I should pick up. Is this https://www.ebay.com/i/182595844383?chn=ps&dispItem=1 a valid option or do I need one more like this https://www.ebay.com/i/162561130838?chn=ps&dispItem=1.
Thanks in advance

You will need the one I've linked or similar. You can't just buy your first link because it is just a clip. You need the full kit to do the flash.

This is the one I bought: http://store.logic-sunrise.com/fr/outils-flash-ps3-downgrade-jailbreak/939-e3-nor-flasher.html

I myself am looking into this but for nor and nand. By the looks of the links above, i'd go with https://www.ebay.com/i/162561130838?chn=ps&dispItem=1
Its the complete package while the other it just a part of the puzzle. Happy hacking.

You have to order your second link. However, they might not be genuine and some fakes have had problems with functioning correctly. The link I attached above is for a genuine E3 Flasher.

If you google E3 flasher genuine vs fake, you'll see what I mean.

However, once you've bought it, the hack process is pretty simple if you're used to taking things apart.

@jellybeangreen2 I was thinking more of the Teensy++ with the nand and nor 360 clips and i've gutted a far share of ps3 and my first ps4 a couple of days ago.
the guide being used to hack the ps3 is on the site psx.... that was recommended by the same friend who recommended this site to me. The post hack part of a ps3 i have down due to getting my hand on an already hacked ps3 slim out of pure luck. Sadly it gave me an issue with the RX chip failing on me while testing a game out.

If you're happy to do a 40 wire install (solder the wires 80 times. Once to the Tennsy++ and once to the PS3 motherboard.

In all honesty, I've only used genuine tools, E3, Team Xecuter tools (excluding original jtag for x360). This is because, instead of having the headache of troubleshooting; especially when there are issues with limited resource for solutions; I'd rather have fun modding it, and also fun playing with it after.

Personally, are you sure your FAT PS3 is definitely NAND and not NOR. NAND are for really early PS3 models only. What's your PS3 model?

@jellybeangreen2 I have two ps3 fat models, ones a retro compatible ps2 and the other is a regular one with both being nand and a slim (not the already hacked one) that belongs to a friend waiting to get hacked. What i was see with the teensy++ is that there are solder-less ways of going about it to hack it. The E3 flasher was the first choice above all in any nor flashing but im limited at the moment to only get one thing bundled together.

I've just checked, all Teensy++ installs require at least one point to be soldered. Unfortunately there isn't a both. I would always buy a NOR because you have a lot more flexibility with PS3 FAT and Slim models.
