Personally, I think there's gonna be either a Skyward Sword (possibly later in the switch lifetime) and/or a Triforce heroes remake/spiritual sequel. I believe this for several reasons.

One because if you've been watching the my Nintendo discounts etc you'll have noticed that (at least in EU) many of the unannounced games get discounts there before their remake/remaster is announced. This happened to Samus Returns and Metroid Prime 4. Both of these have been seeing discounts, maybe several times, these 6 months. And Skyward Sword has been seeing discounts too. One was connected to the buildup to the release of BotW, and the others I don't know. Call me paranoid or whatever I think there is some hidden truth to the mynintendo rewards/discounts...

A second reason for Skyward Sword is because it still hasn't had an HD remaster and the Switch kind of has motion controls in it all ready. Hopefully they would allow normal controls in a remake of the game though, which kind of makes this point about motion controls obsolete..

Phantasy star 2 is the first one on genesis prior to the first game for master system. Just try playing it for a hour, I DARE YOU. O_O
Oh, if I have done that, and quite a lot back in the day. It is one of my favorite games, well, not for nothing was I a SEGA fanboy in the early 90s.
I would love to play the first 4 Phantasy Stars remade, specially the first one that for me was unbearably outdated and unplayable even back then (still miss playing the legend of Alice and Dark Force, or whatever they were called but it was something like that, on my own).

I mean like it has the same problems with the first 2 zelda games, difficulty! I understand it was the "Turnabout of centery with JRPG in the west" But Large dungeons with no maps is just not fun, getting lost too much and having you try to map yourself out with a pen and paper instead of just having a onscreen map is not fun. It doesn't help that every game over puts you back to where you started when you first created the file.

Phantasy star is a game where you have huge places and so many wrong turns that lead to nowhere, not ever worth the treasure you find, most of the useful items are in you have to buy and battles that aren't fun, exp that requires too much, enemies gives too little exp and money, I could go on but is just the idea of playing the two Zelda nes games reminds me of Phantasy star.

There were a lot of Zelda remakes / ports, maybe yearly (I didn't check), because of the delays with Breath of the Wild. To keep the fans happy, they released the HD ports in the meantime.

Now that a new proper Zelda has been released, I think it will be a while until we get back to that series again. Not counting any virtual console stuff down the line though.
I personally never had any issues with the controller on Skyward Sword, and I really like that game. But a HD port of it, with the improved motion controls of the Switch joy-cons.... I think that'd be swell :)

And specially in Phantasy Star 2 a very high ratio of random battles on dungeons, very unforgiving random battles that drain your resources in no time before you can get to a save point exactly because you have to turn around many corners going nowhere and triggering those random battles... True. Yet I love it all the same (would love a modern take on it though). /OT

Honestly i figured sega would follow suit with square announcing final fantasy 7 remake. I hope they don't mess it up too much through, Nomura is a odd cookie.

Back on topic of zelda, I had a interesting idea of maybe a co-op breath of the wild possibility. I noticed that you do get partnered with the descendants of the dead champions, but Also noticed that kakariko and Hateno village has no such thing.... Maybe there could be one, kakariko is home of the sheika, Impa is the guardian, (in cause you forgot, recurring zelda series character) Perfect opportunity for shiek to be playable.

Zelda is trapped at hyrule castle? What if she wasn't, what if she woke up link from sleep, and was a travel companion? Another playable character. That is already 3, the dead king, what if he wasn't dead? 4th playable character. (Or linkle the most forgettable character) :ninja:

I mean at that rate, it might as well be more like xenoblade chronicles or hyrule warriors. If they managed to make 4 swords adventures, they could do something similar with this type of game. I think the game could be much more enjoyable or easy with some friends.

Honestly what I want is what I been asking sega to do, HD REMASTER OF the FIRST FOUR PHANTASY STAR GAMES! O_O
honestly if Zelda one and 2 and the gameboy titles was just HD REMASTER collection, I would pay $60 for it, provided it corrected all the problems with Difficulty in them.

i would love too play through PH 1-4 but personally i would only do so if they did a remake rather than a remaster

Pls no remakes a new zelda game with a new story. Jeez why everyone always want remakes for every console..
we just cant ask for brand new game every year
it takes like 2-3 yearrs to make a brand new game
on the other hand, a remake takes about a year or so

@Abu_Senpai all other Zelda games require you to get new weapons/tools to get into dungeons and open up new areas of the overworld. There is usually only a few, unique swords that don't break. There are only a few types of clothing (eg Zora's Tunic, Kokiri Tunic...). Each thing you get, clothing, weapon, or tool, can only be gotten at a particular stage of the story because it allows you to access the next part of the story. In BOTW you can get any item any time, and none are important for accessing parts of the story. It is very different to previous Zelda games.
