Okay maybe i'm a bit slow on asking this since many years passed since the game came out but yet I found myself stuck at the final quest of the solo part in the village named the ultimate test (or something like that) where you have to face ivory lagia, brachydos and one more monster in the G difficulty.
I never managed to get even past the lagia it always kills me no matter which weapon set I tried (mostly tried with dual blades and hammer) not to mention you have to get brachydos and the final one after.
Im using full rath soul armor from the azure rathalos which gives me hg earplugs critical eye +3 and razor sharp some of the skills were gemmed up and gained with the talisman...
So is anyone that finished that quest without going through the multiplayer procedure?
Or anyone that can give me advice how to take.the quest on?

Yeah I remember that one being a pain, here's a few pointers I can give.

1) Put the ultimate mask on one of the minions, and the pitfall mask on the other. High damage and the ability to trap them every once in a while goes a long way.

2) Capture the Ivory lagiacrus, this will save you more time than you realize, and from having to chance more of your resources on just him.

3) Once both the brachydios and the A.rathalos spawn in, I actually used the brachydios to kill the A.rathalos. Simply by running so that the A.rathalos was between me and the brachydios.

4) Once the brachydios is all that's left, simply exercise extreme caution as normal, and use the pitfall mask (pitfall trap) whenever possible to get in some easy damage, or capture him when he's weak enough.

5) Definetly do not try to capture the A.rathalos with the brachydios still there, it's simply a bad idea to be in one spot for that long, just kill it with the brachydios.

6) Make sure you're packing as much heat as possible, good food skills like felyne defender (High), have the power charm and talon, and armor charm and talon. And the best weaponry and armor you can muster.

7) Bring potion crafting materials if you feel you're going to run out mid-fight, and definetly bring max/ancient potions in case you happen to cart.

8) Last but most important rule is don't get greedy, you have plenty of time to get this all done. And while you think you won't have enough time for the brachydios since it takes a while to kill the A.Rathalos, I assure you that having him kill the rathalos is very much a viable option.

Best of luck! And I hope that some of this helps you. :)

While they hit like G Rank monsters, their HP is that of High Rank if memory serves. 8BitWonder basically said everything I wanted to. It always surprised me when I was going for a potion break, and I saw the Rath and Brachy attacking each other though! If you want a neat set to beat it with, I very highly recommend the Bushido on an Awaken set. They give you purple sharpness and a really good Slime element. You can get them from the giant Duramboros event quest. Best of luck friend <3

That will help a lot :) thanks :)
I was allready using most of the things you suggested but couldn't really decide on the tactic lol nor the weapon... I tried by force once (using a deviljiho hamer but the evade was poor) and got owned badly haha
And scarlet I apriciate the suggestion but I didn't get far on the multiplayer part since I dont have anyone to play with so event quest goes out of suggestion
Ill try again now

Alatreon isn't actually too difficult if you can familiarise yourself with its patterns. For what it's worth though, this is the set I used to beat it:

Full Ivory Lagi, giving:
Attack Up (M)
Blightproof
Bombardier
Part breaker
Divine Blessing
And the Spectral Demolisher (Brachy DBs)

I was familiar with his patterns in Monster Hunter 3 Tri for the wii but they added so many things here
Spectral demolisher dbs? Isnt that actually the final version of them? Didn't do the multi quests since its impossible to do alone except if you grind every last strong monster... and even then it'd be hardcore
