Alright so I got the Wii U jail broken a few weeks back, started installing homebrew, VC injects, the new Zelda, etc
But I got tired of having to go into haxchi and opening mocha every time I wanted to play a game.
Read online that you can install CBHC and you can load games more easily, so I installed it thinking "what's the worst that could happen"

Anyway. Now I can only get into homebrew launcher using the browser and none of the wup installers work.
I tried going in the homebrew launcher and disabling CBHC to see if that Would help, but no.
Is there a way to fix this? I'm half tempted to do a full system format but I think that might brick it.

You shouldn't be using CBHC with Mocha. Even the CBHC author recommends against it.

As EyeKey said, DO NOT FORMAT!

If you followed a guide to do this install I would first start out by reversing your steps.

1. Uninstall CBHC by running the CBHC installer from HBL
2. Make certain that CBHC is gone and then uninstall HaxChi by deleting it through data management.

Do not delete HaxChi until you are 100% sure that CBHC is uninstalled or you will brick.

Now follow these steps.

1. Re download the DS game you bought from eshop to sysnand . Launch it a few times and make sure that it works.
2. Re install HaxChi with a fresh install over your DS game. Test it a few times to make sure that tapping HaxChi takes you into HBL.
3. Unplug all USB drives and install CBHC over HaxChi.
4. Boot your Wii U and on the first CBHC menu tell it to autoboot to system menu.

Now every time you boot you will be in a sigpatched sysNAND. No mocha, no rednand. The way it should be.

Go and read my noob guide in the stickys so you don't do something dumb and brick your Wii u.

well, cbhc is written over haxchi, so haxchi won't work anymore unless u've moved the game from usb and there's a copy on both the NAND and usb. anyway, the wup installers don't work after uninstalling cbhc?

I would first say "What do I do?" and CBHC do not go together. It is not a casual/newbie mod you should have a clear knowledge of what you are doing before using CHBC.

DO NOT move or delete CBHC under any circumstances, go to the homebrew channel launch the CHBC app and uninstall it from there and do not touch it again until you have a clear understanding of what you are doing and stop installing Mocha and all that stuff.

Sysnand and regular Haxchi until you're knowledge is such it doesn't require a query post.

yeah, I should've made that clear. don't move the game after installing cbhc. I meant if u've moved the game before installing it. I uninstalled cbhc once when I thought the icon. text hadn't changed. what I was actually seeing was the usb version of the game taking precedence. I only moved the game to prevent a question mark tile on redNAND (in case I ever use it again). I want both NANDs clean. anyway, haxchi worked normally due to this after uninstalling cbhc. not sure about after installing it though, but I suspect that it'd work.

When I uninstalled it the icon still says "Do not touch" etc
Are you saying to go in system settings and delete it while it still says that or should the icon have reverted upon uninstall

I copied the game from usb to NAND before installing cbhc. the usb version is taking precedence, so the do not touch (the NAND version) isn't being used whenever I select the haxchi game. my icon and text is still what it was whenever I installing haxchi due to this. I hope that makes sense.

Only if CBHC is gone. Then you're safe to remove the "Do not touch" game and data. Just try booting your Wii u. Watch the gamepad. Do you see the CBHC text when booting? If you don't see any text on the gamepad during boot then try and run a game or something that requires CFW. It should fail. If it doesn't fail then CBHC is still installed

Too many of these threads appearing now on GBA because users are following that shit wiiu.guide tut.

WTF? They are explaining how to install CBHC with redNAND mocha?? Why?????

Why the fuck they are making it so complicated and risky? Why the hell a regular user would need redNAND? What is so bad in CBHC CFW?

It seems that almost any user with this setup will have issues at some point. In this case redNAND just increases the chance of brick because of stupid things the user may do when he encounter weird issue because of this setup.
Most of the CBHC bricks are during installation, so redNAND doesn't help with it anyway...

This is what the guide should be - install haxchi as Homebrew launcher or haxchi CFW launcher(aka sysmenu) (and if you install it as CFW launcher install an additional unsigned Homebrew launcher)

And if you want CBHC to save the launching of haxchi CFW - install it with CBHC CFW (launch sysmenu). And just reminding the user to never format.

Oh, and dump otp before you do anything.

I totally agree with you mate. Some hotshot on the 3ds apparently who obviously does't know what the hell he's doing on the WiiU and pulled loads of tuts into one and over complicated everything.

Hello,

Try to do this:
- Power on your Wii U
- During booting, push the Home-Button
- You should enter in a menu to set CBHC. Select Boot Sys Menu

If it does nothing, you'll have to uninstall your RedNand: come here if you need it.

Hi guys, i want to repeat the mod because I've some problem when I try to install updates and dlcs.
I've uninstalled chbc from HL, and it seems to work good because when WiiU has booted it doesn't show the phrase "CBHC v1.6 ecc".
But the games on my usb are working perfectly on Wii u, they appeares.
Did I manage to uninstall correctly CBHC?
Icon "don't touch" is still there...

it's an old thread, not sure why you chose this one.

Yes, uninstalling CBHC doesn't remove the "do not touch" icon.
you can verify CBHC is uninstalled using different methods.
- like you said, no more "CBHC v1x" text
- press home at boot, it won't open the CBHC boot menu
- go to settings, it's not 99.99.99 anymore and it's back to 5.x

The channel is still CBHC, just that it's not coldboot (launched automatically at console boot) anymore.
if you want, you can reinstall CBHC over it by using that channel to launch the homebrew launcher (it will set coldboot back to that channel), or delete the channel and redownload the NDS game from eshop but you'll need to use the browser exploit to launch the homebrew launcher.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha

@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
