Thanks so much for the recommendations on emulators for the Vita. Everything working great except one particular game for me - Wizardry V. I'm able to run the game using Retroarch SNES9x 2005 fine, up until a battle ends. At this point the game always freezes. The trapped chest screen starts to appear slightly but then freezes. I would super appreciate anyone who can help! I'm running the game with the recent uncensored patch.
Could you test the same rom on the PC's RetroArch?
Same rom, same core.

Cuz, I was having an issue with Castlevania: Aria of sorrow, but then I dig a little and realize that this is a core-related problem, not a Vita problem. The bug is in the PC version of RetroArch too. Sooo I guess it will be fixed, one day it will :D

Maybe but I dont know how to enable it on gambatte :(

And I keep my crash "totally expanded edition" :)
But that Crash is so ugly, only the original is... original lool (and so better)
Anyway first at all you need to goin' to Settings (assuming you use latest nightly) and then scroll down to FrameThrottle, here enable the label "Rewind" and then set the value you want (i usually set 2 or 3) in 'Rewind Granularity'

Then go back in Settings, go to Input, and then Input Hotkeys Bind. Here find "Rewind", press X and then press the button you want to assign it. In game, just hold that selected button to rewind the game.

Because it's my game and I play the way I want :) I just want to play a game without the fuss and chill so when I fall, I use the rewind to not do the level all over again. I do this rarely but now, I fell lazy.

Lol, for this and more I use the savestates, using it everytime I found a hard stage. But I see what you mean. Kinda Prince of Persia powers to every game.

Yeah, savestates rules, and this is why i wish about perfect savestate function for pcsx core.
This seems to be the best way to enjoy old gold games, because we dont have time and patience to re-do everytime a mess like when we was kids.
And anyway portable controls are not the same as real joypad, so is more easy to do mistake on portable device (but i love my old games as portable).
Imagine N64 emu on psvita; psvita control stick is lightyears far from the precision of N64 control stick, so here savestates is a must to have.

But putting a rom (in my case: a psx game for pcsx-r libretro core) in ur0 instead of ux0, can this improve loading/reading speed for the game?

Try and size yourself.
To RetroArch team: I would love to have acces to /pspemu to play with the PSX eboots. Could you give RA the permissions to access all the rutes in there. I have the impression that this would make RA an unsafe software.

Ah i take this opportunity to ask to you another thing.
PSx savestate is low because shitty memory card psvita. With SD2Vita, with microSd, there's a chance to get improvements?
Psvita memory card have write/reading speed about 6-8Mb/s, Class 10 microSd can reach 80 MB/s lol

Really don't know, but no matter the speed of the SD card, it always will pass through the vita pins, so, it all depends on their speed.

The speed of a chain is the speed of it's slower link.

Ah ok.
Anyway i've tried to set ur0 for savestates (PCSXR) and works much better!
it took about 2 sec. now instead of 4-5 and game no lags or slowdowns (i actually playing Tomb Raider III and before, during savestates, the game lag as hell; i was forced to pause or open retroarch menu and wait the end of process)

Hi guys guessing it's a pretty common error but when booting CPS1/CPS2/NG front end a second time I encounter an error.

C2-12828-1

Deleting the file it says doesn't help. Thanks!

Hello! Thread isn't dead (I hope), I'm not dead, and I have a LOOOT to fix up here.

Since my last posting months ago, we've had a couple of release builds of RetroArch; namely, the 1.6.0 release, and yesterday's 1.6.3 update. Also since then, many things have changed in the Vita scene, such as the release of a permanent Custom Firmware (CFW) which has since superseded standard HENkaku/TaiHen. So, before I get to updating the front-page (again, and FAR too long in the making >.>), a few notes.

The latest release is 1.6.3, available here. Do note, Buildbot seems to be having a stroke so if it doesn't work the first time, try, try again!
The latest release of Vita CFW is HENkaku Enso(there's supposed to be a line here, RIP tenkeyless), and you can read more here. Simply transfer the .vpk and install it like you do for RetroArch cores, then run the installer! From here on, this will be the recommended CFW to run for RetroArch and, hopefully, all other homebrew for the foreseeable future. If you use TaiHEN or standard HENkaku up to this point (Like I have up to this point), then please update before posting any bug reports.

I will scrub through the earlier posts and pick up on what I can find, then add to the front OP wherever needed/applicable. This will take a while. (^^;
Calling right now; if anyone has ANYTHING they want to immediately report to me now to save me time (Because I realize it has been literal MONTHS since my last activity here), say so right now!
