Never owned a 3DS XL, New 3DS, and 2DS/New 2DS XL. I'm surprised they dropped the hammer on this after they released the new 3ds equipment so quickly.

Out of all the options to. I'm suprised they didn't pick the oldest 3ds of the bunch.

old3ds and old3dsXL are already discontinued.
old2ds costs $80 and can play pokemon - winner, keep it
new3dsXL is expensive but can do 3D and play n3ds exclusives. it sells better than new3ds. winner, keep it.
new3ds is in the same price range as new2ds so its got to go - retailers and consumers won't put up with 4 SKUs to choose from.
new2ds also is cheaper to produce than new3ds and is .... newer. winner, keep it.

I like the smaller form factor of the n3DS. It's not huge, I can tuck it into the back pocket of my jeans without feeling like I'm smuggling something.

The smaller screen size is annoying, however. Some games are really hard to play (eg. Smash bros).

I think they got rid of the smaller one as it is impractical to keep manufacturing four different models (the 2DS, the og 3DS, the new 3DS, 3DS XLs, and the new 2DS XL). Plus most Nintendo fans are older and have weaker eyesight, so it's definitely a reason to keep buying the XL versions.

Nothing to mention outer design. Gloss, fingerprints, and scatches

the N3DS doesn't get any of this (unless you buy a gloss faceplate)

Even the N2DS gets fingerprints on the matte surface. Absolutely disgusting for Nintendo to design something like this

Waaat. This size is the best one! XLs are too big. I'll always love my black and red little precious.
