Protection with the HAXCHI TO PREVENT it from updating if while using haxchi
so if this is to be the case, does that mean coldboothax still works? wait thats confusing because I thought the system.xml updated? and if thats the case then coldboot shouldn't work.

I never said anything about coldboothax, I said HAXCHI which is totally different lol, coldboothax might be dead, I have no clue.

First, don't update, then delete coldboothax (the proper way) then update and don't install coldboothax anyomore, you will be fine if you follow these steps.

Please confirm:

A.) People with a 5.5.1 Wii U cannot access hacks anymore unless they purchased an exploitable DS game from the eshop, and set up Haxchi. All they can do is keep the Wii U offline and wait for a new exploit.

B.) People with the 5.5.2 update auto-downloaded can avoid 5.5.2 applying itself on boot if they hold down B on the game pad to boot into Wii mode first. From Wii mode, one can exit to Wii U mode and play Wii U games normally until the next cold boot, without allowing the console to update itself.

Questions:

1.) Is there a way to get rid of an auto-downloaded 5.5.2 update before it applies itself? There's a way to do this with the 3DS...

2.) If one boots into Wii mode, exits into Wii U mode, enters and exits System Settings, will the update apply itself then? With the 3DS, exiting System Settings acts like a coldboot IIRC.

THAT is very important. Only update if you have HAXCHI

Which I thankfully do, along with the HBL, and I use Haxchi/CFW (holding B to enable CFW when I load Haxchi, and then load something like RetroArch). I think it's the version of Haxchi with CBCH, not 100% sure. Either way, I'm safe. I wouldn't lose out on much.

It DOESNT kill haxchi... stop the misinformation.
Dude it was like the first message about this ( I wrote coldboot hachi not a normal hachi) and in a certain way it does kill cooldboot hachi because it can't run on the lastest firmware till changing some things , but the normal hachi doesn't follow a startup code so it is still working
Stop the misreading lol

Nope you're using normal haxchi , the coldboot one tells you Everytime you turn on your Wii U ,that haxchi will autoboot , if you don't see this in your Wii U startup (instead of the WiiU logo ) then you have normal haxchi

Weird, still, it was the one that has CFW, so it's the Haxchi with CFW as I hold B down as it loads it up, then back to the menu and I can enjoy the faster read speeds :P Even with that, I should be safe. CBHC, not too keen on using.

Both of them have CFW , the only difference is that the normal one (the one you're using) needs to be manual triggered holding B and Coldboot does it automatically in your Wii u startup so no returning to he menu is needed but yeah normal haxchi is more safe than the coldboot one

I think all it does kill is access to exploit via Browserhax. Might be wrong but man, I have CBHC installed so better be wrong than correct.

It's pretty fucking insane to me that the console just updates while you're sleeping. Yeah, I should had used DNS or just disabled internet on it, but still.
