What you can purposing ?

Well if its a hardware limitation you would have to physically mod your adapter to boost 'power' to the controller (this would take soldering most likely), somehow externally power the controller form its own 'power source', or somehow physically mod the mini itself to 'overvoltage', however this could be bad on the circuits, burn outs and short circuiting.

There is a third party knockoff of the NES Advantage which is supposed to work with the NES Classic (with an included adapter).

Another option is a Wii arcade gaming stick. They're pretty pricy though.

Ah. What I use is available in the "source code" version of the release.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I use the 2005 core only for the Super FX games. I use the "snes" command for 2010, and "snes2005" for the 2005 core.

The Super FX games run too fast for me when overclocked on 2010. Yoshi's Island has some graphical glitches too. With the SNES Classic coming out, this is now irrelevant. :)
so you don't know how to disable the save states without a folder ?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

does ANYONE know how to suspend battery save states ?

I know how to disable save states. Add --ra-nosaves in the file in the bin folder.
does that stop the game from making a battery save or the suspend points at the bottom of the screen ?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If I were to upgrade to hakchi 2.17, would I just need to copy over the games folder and the mods folder ?

Battery saves still work as they should. There are no "floating" suspend points when you exit the game.

Copy over the games folder, user_mods folder, dump folder, config folder, and folder_images (if you added any of your own).

I updated the 2010 core, again. FX Games run better. Yoshi's Island no longer appears to have graphical glitches. Try it out.

is there any way to suspend battery saves ? I've heard that they take up a lot of space and you can't delete them from the mini's menu.

Are you trying to use save states made on previous snes 2010 hmod? I tested it, using "new and fresh" save states. They work fantastic. And, have you, by chance, ever updated your Retroarch version? Older versions of Retroarch had SNES 2010 saving blocked.

No. I just heard that in game save states can take up a lot of space and wondered if there was a way to make the games that use them to stop doing it. But I guess with the new Hakchi 2.17, and the save state manager, I can just use that to delete them.

Save states really do not take up as much space as you might think. This was an issue with older SNES 2010, where it could be 5 Mb save files. In my testing of newer SNES 2010, that I just updated, revised, and posted, save state files varied from 40 Kb to 300 Kb. I may do a video about save states, since it is pretty requested, info wise. Save State Manager works great for seeing exact save state sizes, just remember that. All of mine, for all systems, are relatively small:)

Battery saves are tiny, like 16-32 kilobytes each. They can be deleted if you do the factory reset via the menu. That deletes all save states and battery saves.

Too bad my NES Classic crashes after exiting games and creating suspend points from RetroArch. I have no idea what's causing it. My thinking is that some Hakchi/RetroArch files are not being deleted when I uninstall/reinstall and it's causing some sort of conflict which results in a crash, because both of my NES Classics do it. I have disabled suspend points for all RetroArch cores, and reverted all NES games to kachikachi, which does not have issues when exiting games.

Is there a way I can COMPLETELY delete all traces of Hakchi/RetroArch and install from scratch? Using Hakchi's uninstall feature does not remove everything.

if you uninstall all the plugins, then use the save state manager to wipe save states, then use the uninstall, then do a factory reset on the nes i would imagine that clears everything?

Nope, I did that and looked into the folders via FTP server after reinstalling Hakchi only (no ROMs other than original 30, and no retroarch). There were log files of ROMs that were previously added, retroarch config files, among others.

if you do a factory reset, does it erase the games and put the nes back to it's original state ? Or can that only happen if you uninstall hakchi and reflash the original kernel dump ?

The "factory reset" within the NESC only erases saves. It does not affect ROMs or emulators.

You may want to try my V1 set out. I have painstakingly done everything I could to use the best md5 hashchecked roms, etc. I have no issues with saves. Only occasional, random C8 errors...which are unavoidable and a result of cache memory overload from Folder Management.

Also, which way are you exiting games? Reset button on the mini? Programmed hakchi2 shortcut? Home button on controller, itself?

not having that problem, but DOES it matter how you exit the games ? For most games, I use the controller shortcut to exit. A few retroarch games won't exit with the shortcut...for some reason. With these, I either hit the reset button on the console it's self, or go into retroarch and use the Quit Retroarch option.

have a weird issue. in the menu where you install or uninstall modules, I have the same list for both options. In the uninstall menu, it shows me modules that aren't installed. Now...I'm all confused. I'm not sure what modules I have installed and which ones I have taken off.

Retroarch Options/Load Core, to see which are installed.

As far as exiting, I always exit with shortcut or Home Button. I never ever use the Reset button on the Mini.
