According to wiidev, (link) your wii id is stored in plain text in these files, so doing a search for the magic number (0x42 0x6B 0x00 0x01) you will find your wii id. If you change this to another one, you will not be able to view you rock archive, because "this sd card belongs to another wii"

So if you were to modify this section to the id of another wii, the other wii should recognise it?
or is that what you just tried?

Thats exatly what i tried to do. Some interesting tests i just tried.

if none are switched it will say this sd card is from another wii.

if the wii id is switched on all of the files it will show up in the set list, but will fail to load the song. (so close). also when in the archive and try to copy, it will vanish.

if the wii id is switched on all but the song file, it will show up in the archive, but will not copy to the wii, or show up in setlist.

if the song is from another region, it will say it is a corrupt file in the archive (unable to copy) and will not show up in the setlist.

can anybody verify all of this?

there must be another file which contains something about an individual wii?
or a ticket is stored by the game saying which songs you do or do not have?

Ya, I just tried that. I used any title deleter and deleted the 'downloadable content' and now it says that a licence file could not be found, and none of them show up at all. After my frustration with wads, I just assumed that they were static files that were directly downloaded from the wiiservers. tmd (and then download any files off listed in that.), but aparently there is some validation going on somewhere.

Off topic but does the music store work in Gamma? It hasn't worked for me since the switch from beta.

I have a bunch of songs that i downloaded via wii points , unfortunately i formated mi wii memory and now i can see the songs in the game but when i try to play them it says that i have to download them again, and i have a softmoded wii now and the shopchanel wont work. I have the dlc save file in my sd but the wii won't let me transfer it to the sistem memory. I bet that file is the key to play the songs that i downloaded.

hey sry i don't know much about hacking, but this was an idea i had,
instead of trying to have files on the SD card that we get game to read by itself,
could we make some orcarina codes that either help this process, like a code that disregards wii info, or one that actually reads the songs somehow like they do in SSBB for textures

this is an idea, so i dont know if this could work though, since im not that good at hacking

Since I have no idea anymore of what to modify in my wads, i have been looking into how the 'rock archive' saves are built.

I am assuming they are all based off of the save file format, but somehow they have an index file (001.bin?) that tells them what is avalabe, because if you delete that file world tour will say there is an error in your 'archive'.

According to wiidev, (link) your wii id is stored in plain text in these files, so doing a search for the magic number (0x42 0x6B 0x00 0x01) you will find your wii id. If you change this to another one, you will not be able to view you rock archive, because "this sd card belongs to another wii"

Although I am not interested in pirating dlc, it would seem that this would be the easiest way. It sucks because I am doing this purely for customs.

I tried this with my spare wii, and and it shows up in the archive in the sd card area, but when i copy it to the wii, it disappears from both. when I tried to play it from the setlist, it appeared to load, but then shot me back to the main menu with an error saying that it was unable to be played. So i guess i made a little progress.

I would assume also that this will work for the metallica pack that was mentioned earlier in this thread, but be careful because it was created on a pal machine, and i dont know if they are different or not, but would assume that the wouldnt work on a ntsc wii.
Hello guys, sorry to bump an old thread, but I was just attempting to install the dlc on my Wii. Now that it seems you guys are masters at getting the dlc installed, is there anyway you could help me get it installed on my wii now that the Nintendo wfc shop has been taken down and I missed the boat to get the dlc while wfc was still active? Thanks ~ Dorito

You can use waninkoko's save installer if someone dumps theirs, so it goes like this:

1. Install DLC WAD.
2. Install save file.
3. FTW?

Would this work or no?
It's not easy as you think.
It's not like putting the files in /private/DATA/XXX/songname.bin or whatever.
The wii needs also the TICKET installed in the console
Basically, no ticket, no dlc songs.
Also saves doesn't store tickets. if i know i guess.

I have a wad that basically gives me a receipt saying that I bought all the dlc, but am I wrong in thinking that? where/what should i do now?

I Know I don't have the dlc installed, but could you please explain what and how the wads are used and how I can actually install the dlc on the wii
If i can remember, some DLCs are WAD files, like Megaman 9 or 10 i guess...
Basically, the DLC contains the data of the game (DLC) and the TIK file (ticket)
So, the DLC data storage is SD. the folder is sd:/private/Wii/XXXX/(data)
The ticket is used for check the dlc and enable it or don't enable it. the TIK is installed in the System. so, it's like if you have Cave Story WAD. and the ticket. will run. but if you have the WAD installed, and don't have the ticket (or delete it), the channel just will no run or will no show up in the System Channels.
This happends the same with DLC.

The Wii Shop is not taken down, neither are the Guitar Hero DLC songs. Only the servers for gameplay are discontinued.

When going into connection setting and doing an internet test, I get code support code: 11172 post saying that there is an update available. Is this update safe to install, or will this brick my wii? And no, I dont think I have any type of private server turned on.
