The Nintendo Switch SDK has been leaked

in-switch-un-sdk-de-la-nintendo-switch-leake-1.jpg

Someone posted on /hbg/ a link to the Switch SDK. I don't know if it's the actual SDK or not because I have no use for it but I thought people would like to know or some shit.

EDIT: For the uninitiated, the leak has been confirmed real by SciresM and others. Go nuts.
EDIT 2: The SDK has appeared on many different warez sites.
EDIT 3: Stop asking me for links. I'm not gonna go dig out the link for you. Besides, someone on /hbg/ said the original link is down.

Fantastic news. Let's hope there is some exploit to be found there, so there can be a hack/trainer for BOTW on the Switch. I am happy to pay somebody to make one, as soon as there is custom code running.

Last time I was here, this was still just a random thread.

Maybe Switch homebrew is sooner than we thought. :toot:

The SDK wouldn't help you find an exploit, it would only help make homebrew. Which is useless without an exploit. That should be a PSA on the main thread @Silent Hell

Wrong, the SDK can give significant insight in how the platform works and how you could proceed probing it

Also im not gonna link anything, but SOMEONE uploaded mirrors of the archive and gave links to that one PlayStation hacks website, which has these files in a forum post now

It can give all sorts of insight like bugs etc, mostly from the documents it provides (wouldn't know if there were any, but they usually have them). The actual files are there to make the application/game. Also linking that site is the equivalent to linking a warez site since they have all sorts of illegal stuff there (the site sucks in general). You should remove it.

Spot on.

I was poking around last night. There's some interest executable tools like backupsavegames. It's obviously dependant on a target Switch being available. I tried (with little hope in mind) to get the provided debug driver to install over the generic windows USB one to no avail. Obviously the driver is for dev kit units, so I assumed it wouldn't work regardless.

I'll be poking around a bit more after work tonight to see if there's anything in there useable with a retail unit, but again, I really doubt it. Regardless, the SDK will be useful when homebrew capability becomes a reality, and will certainly help other devs greater than myself in their efforts to open the Switch up.

On an optimistic note: Big things in store, hopefully this helps the scene get as diverse as the PSP days were in terms of homebrew.
