Some guys who bought those club Nintendo controllers for obscene prices on EBay are kicking themselves in the head right now. Where did you find that picture?

Yes it's a cover https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/8757427/00000703_02.0.jpg
So we can use our stuff with this, also the 8bitdo Controller/Receiver. The cable on the controller will be 5 feet (about 1.5 meter) which is still very short. Thanks to hackchi i don't Need one. I just put my preorder in just for fun. If i have luck i will make a gift to my neighbor wich had no chance to buy a nes mini.

lol I was just thinking the same! I got lucky tho. I ordered one "new" on Amazon for 60. When it came it had no box or anything just was in an envelope. Good condition but no original box and was obviously used. Called Amazon and they gave my money back for it being used and not new when it was listed as new. So now I'm extra happy I didn't end up having to pay the 60 for it. The US ones are even more hard to find. So this helps out people who wanted the US ones if you get the console.

I doubt it

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

The same motherboard, and maybe a cheaper version without 300mb extras, Nintendo reducing costs.

More than likely the 300 meg was the cheapest chip they could obtain in production... It's a lot cheaper to get what is the most mass produced memory to buy in bulk, and then just 'block' of access to the rest. Of course programmers figure out how to get around it.

If we talk about flash memory or SD cards it can cost more to get a 2 gb or 4 GB than say an 8 or 16 GB since the 8 or 16s are more commonly produced in bulk.

It would be cool if this time around they were only able to obtain say a 1 gb memory or more in bulk instead (as the 'cheaper' option), allowing for more space to be used ;)

Myself I'm using my NES Mini specifically for NES games and possibly may in the future use it for Sega Master System games (since they use similar controller button layouts). You can easily fit most of both systems "English/translated' games on the same 340 megs of memory..... If the emulators work for them, I might add those rare Sierra PC-88/ Sharp X1 Hudson/Nintendo games to it as well, and maybe MSX2 Vampire Killer game as well (since its NES style 8-bit graphics). Of course I could always use it for Atari/Coleco games as well... Maybe Gameboy COlor/GB games since they share that 8-bit 'look'.

Then my Snes Mini will be used primarily for SNES games (and possibly Gameboy Advance), Hopefully it does have enough space to add most if not all the English or translated catalogue. Doubt I'll put Sega Genesis/MegaDrive on it though... Just not easy to get the right button layout. I don't have one of those six button Wii Arcade sticks. Now if someone is able to get Super Gameboy emulated on the SNES Mini (with all the bells and whistles) that would be awesome, and I'd put the Super Gameboy enhanced games on it as well (and definitely Donkey Kong, and Space Invaders)!

Then everything else I can't fit, will go on my RaspPi....

Not upset, I got much use out of it on both a hacked Wii, Wii-U Virtual Console, and NES mini over the last few years.

It's unlikely that they'll sell 'extra' controllers for the SNES mini separately, either (in case anyone is wanting to get ahold of 'two' for 'cheap'.). Of course if someone figures out how emulate 'multitap' and plug more than one controller through the ports.... There is always that chance for 3 player Secret of Mana, or 4 player Bomberman (once people figure out how to get new games on it). Or simply have a backup/spare, or a gift to a family member/friend.

One can only hope someone figures out how to wire a mouse to the system as well for Mario Paint ;).

That'd be me. At least I have "one of each" though, one EU Super Nintendo and one JP Super Famicom. Oh well, I can still use the two I bought on my NESC, it's more comfortable at least, and I'll have dedicated turbo buttons.

How do I set the folder structure so that no matter what folder I am in, there are links to all other folders in the same folder? Is there a way to prevent having a Home menu?

You can make a main folder like "Consoles" for example...and drag all your other folders into it when the file structure window opens...I havent tried it..just supposing..if it doesnt work..just change it back..I dont think it will matter how many games are in one folder with many other folders inside..couldnt hurt to try..

Chances of random C8 errors due to cache memory overload increase slightly with subfolders. I would advise against them, as Main Gui single folders have proven much more reliable in my memory testing. And, too many games can lead to failure to load any within that folder. I tested this several different times. I had 68 Mb within 158 files, for example. None loaded until I divided them in half. But, you can have 330 Mb of games in a folder, and have them work, if done properly...and, not too many files.

The club Nintendo ones have a different connector on them. Hardly a fair comparison.

When setting automatic folders, the folders are set up like a daisy chain. It looked like there was no "main menu", just a series of sub-menus which all connected to each other. I could be wrong, but that's what I want to replicate. The manual folder options don't seem to allow that.

Yes I had a setup like this and was getting c8 errors og30/nes/A-F/3 folders with 30 games each inside

I removed the 3 30 games folders and only put 60 games in the A-F folder
Haven't seen any c8 errors after changing it to that

I can't do without subfolders completely cause I don't like how it looks with 4 nes folders
Each console gets one folder

Hi,

New here. Can someone help me? I got a famicom mini and initially used hakchi version 2.1.1. And it mostly worked for me minus the original games on the system. I've tried using version 2.17 now and keep the original 30 games. It's saying memory is full and won't load everything. I was following a YouTube tutorial which I think I followed right. Is there something I'm not doing right? After I went back to version 2.11 and I have the original games back with empty folders that give me a c7 error message. Also it mostly worked from the initial time, but I would sometimes get a c8 error message. Can anyone give me explicit instructions to do this right? I've been searching around a few days and haven't found a specific answer. I would greatly appreciate it.

Warm Regards,
Xolin

i just did my famicom mini recently and worked fine on 2.17

why don't you try to reset the console to factory settings and start over on 2.17
uninstall all the mods and uninstall hakchi
now flash the original kernel

make sure you backup the "dump" and "game" folder to use again , plus "folder images" folder
there is also a mod to change the menu language to english , search this thread
i put 700 nes games on mine , only used like 225mb

i think kernel of nes mini need to be patched !!!

only a button select button and up of the joystick working

According to the posted reviews may not be problem with the software side, but the hardware... NES uses 5v, and Wii/Classic uses 3V, and the adapters don't 'boost' the power, so basically controllers are under voltage.
