So I formatted multiple SD Cards, trying to get this to work. /apps/nintendont/meta.xml, boot.dol. I don;t know how to fix that, should I use a usb drive? If so, please teach me how!

You mean the Homebrew Channel? If it doesn't see the apps on SD it's partitioned/formatted incorrectly or the card is incompatible. HBC requires the card be MBR with FAT32 filesystem.

It's FAT32 and i've used this SD beforeI don't know why it isn't working now

check if you can access the sd card through conventional methods (open the sd card menu, see if you can transfer channels or savedata to it, etc.). The sd card reader might not be reading the sd card properly (it happened to me several times)

I too would recommend to change the adapter you use to put it on the Wii; as I remember having problems with Homebrew Channel not picking up an old SD card time ago, and in the end all those issues were because of the adapter. The way your Wii knows there's an SD but HBC ignores it reminds me of what I was experiencing.

That's why I keep a couple of them around just in case (Although I haven't changed my adapter in a looong time).

Also, in my experience, it's best to just remove or insert the SD card while the system is turned off, as putting the SD card while on HBC does not load the applications automatically for me (I don't know if this is intended behavior or not, or if there's a way to make HBC to look for the SD after it has been inserted).

One day the same thing happened to mine. Just because you can see the wii read it doesn't mean it's readable. You can check if it works by going to the sd card menu, and are if it reads it. If you want to be sure, check data management of the sdcard, and are if that's readable

Just wanted to chime in, i tend to do hot swapping a lot inside HBC while testing my compilations, no problems at all detecting the apps again.

This.

When I remove my SD card, the apps displayed on HBC disappear and then HBC shows my USB drive's apps. In your case, Dexamasama, you may be seeing nothing because there's nothing on your USB, or nothing else for HBC to read apps from. After you've re-inserted your SD card, HBC won't switch itself back to viewing your apps that are on your SD card, so you'll have to Press 1 (or X on GC controller) to bring up the menu and then select "SD card" from the menu, in order to make them visible again.

... Weird, I remember having that "issue" for quite a while... But alas, after reading your message; I tried again, you're right. Removing my SD and inserting it again it loads automatically. It happened to me mostly when I enter HBC without an SD inserted, and seeing Sticksandstones message, I think that's what was going on.

So thanks to both for clearing that for me.

Ive installed the HBC, ive downloaded paper mario: the thousand year door and zelda windwaker, ive unzipped them to my sd card, plugged it into the wii, and NOTHING COMES UP AND IM ABOUT TO SMASH MY WII.

I homebrewed the frigging wii TODAY, using the SAME sd card. am I retarded or is something missing from my steps-taken-to-play-wiigames?

Dont impose your own morality on me. Ive already got a shit ton of backed up wii games, I just happen to have stored them online and now must download them all AGAIN to get them again.

Im sick of videos and tutorials that dont fucking explain a single thing. They're all like, "hey, just download all this shit to a stick or card, run it on your wii, and then you can just run the games without any hassle". im fucking sick of it. I ask questions here because I expect that someone is going to have DONE THIS SHIT BEFORE.

Sorry if I sound like im losing my shit. I AM losing my shit. My patience is all but dried up and the next thing I break will be my wii. following that, the TV, the laptop, and every bone in my fists. Im asking for help to do this, because I have in no way shape or form got enough patience to deal with this crap not working.

Dont assume people are pirates just because theyve downloaded software. I own all the software I download, cos i store it online. I cant send you a link to it, because its private storage. therefore, I cannot pirate it out or be a pirate.

Please, explain a lot more. You seem like you are listening to tutors that are not good. For one, you have to have nintendont, then afterwords put it in the apps, then get the USB and load them from there!

No, im literally saying that one of the rules is no piracy...

Im at the stage where ive watched over 24 tutorials, ive had people send me over 57 links to tutoriuals and step-by-step guides, and all I want is someone to answer my questions in a yes/no format. I need simple instructions to fix SINGLE issues. not instructions from start to finish on how to install every known app and piece of software in existence to do everything BUT load games

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

The stress I have been subject top from trying to mod my wii has made me start crying. Im not even ashamed to admit that I am infact a 28 year old man with a fiance and a son, and I am crying over a fucking wii. I challenge ANYONE to mod my wii following all the guides and tutorials I have followed and NOT cry
