Idk if you knowed it, but I accedently killed the phone of my dad using stock recovery and tried to fix it with twrp, ending up that it got sent to hauwei support to fix it.

So, they called today that they are unable to repair the phone because the motherboard died.
Seems like fastboot, huawei e recovery, recovery, update mode and booting process are working without motherboard, but booting into the os needs a working motherboard.
Then my dad asked how it died.
They answered, that an unlocked bootloader uses more energy than a locked one and so it the motherboard died.
Thats complete Bullshit from the support.
And the repairing costs would be 30€.
The only thing they'll do is lockeing the bootloader, which will render it completly unuseable.
And they said that they will keep the 30€.
how do you think about that?

I'm just saying: Achievment unlocked: Worst Support ever

I already knew Huawei was shit but not this much, but then again third world brands are like this.
I remember my boyfriend having a Wiko phone with a defect, he sent the phone back to Wiko for warranty purposes (wasn't rooted, modified or tampered with) and they gave a bullshit excuse saying the phone had humidity inside, denying any free repairs on the spot.

So basically you killed a phone and now you wonder why you have to pay for a repair?
30$ isnt much anyway

No, I'm not wondering why i have to pay, but wondering why they wont repair it with the excuse that the motherboard is fried by unlocking the bootloader and then keeping the money for doing nothing ecept relocking the bootloader without we wanting that. the motherboard is not fried cause everything except android is working.

heh, i thought the fairlness would be 10 bucks + shipping...
30 bucks is a lot for the 5 minute of flashing back the rom into the phone

but like OP said, the bullshit they come with to explain, is the real problem...

worst part is that they wont fix it and want that we buy a new one.

that is just stealing money taken to the next level
1.unlocking the bootloader shold no way on earth do that to a phone
it can brick a phone but not because of "using more energy" and burning the motherboard
2.unlocking and locking a bootloader is a thing you can do it yourself
3.if they didnt fix the phone they shouldnt have kept the money

that's what they are doing. I wont call the repair support, cause they wont help, I want to contact the manager.

In german they wrote in an email "durch fremdmodifikation am bootloader wurde das Mainboard stark beschädigt" Which means that the modifikation of the bootloader damaged the motherboard
if the motherboard was dead the phone shouldnt have been able to do anything at all
