Gaming Does 150cc feel too slow for anyone else (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)?

I was playing online just recently and every single time it felt like it was taking ages to advance, it felt like 100cc but at 150cc -- weirdly too damn slow, imo. The worst part was that 200cc never came up.

Yes, I did try different combinations but it still didn't do much good as the speed in itself wasn't any better.

150cc is the max difficulty for global online as far as I know. I too never encountered 200cc. 200cc is a bit hard for me, though, but I like it.

200cc does exist on online global mode but seems to have been heavily reduced.

Maybe that's the problem. I played too much of 200cc and got used to it as the standard speed and now 150cc feels too slow.

true pros play mute city(hitting as many boost pads as possible), mushrooms only, 200cc, with a cart setup for highest possible speed

not sure if me and my friends should feel terrible doing this but, at lunch at school, just say d day and we just go straight to playing the beach stage in mk7 bomb ombs only in battle mode

This is almost for sure not your problem, but juuuuust in case: if you just started playing online, make sure the steering assistance isn't on. I remember it was enabled by default and it does slow you down. I'm willing to bet you turned it off long ago, but thought I'd say it anyway.

It doesn't actively slow you down unless you're going to go off the track. It also deprives you of the purple boost so it really does such lol. Neat idea to make the game more accessible though, just a shame it had to be the default option.

All the handicap options are off so it's just that it's 150cc.

after doing all cups at 200cc, i never want to go that fast ever again.

it gave me a new appreciation for 150.

I just force mine into 200cc by always hosting the lobby. Heck, one of them didn't even know how to drift (idk how anybody can not know how to drift) and I had them playing 200cc lmao

200CC was the only mode that gave me some sort of challenge (offline ofc), all the other modes were just 1st place all the way with almost no joy in it. In this mode I finally got to try the other items too, and using the brakes makes the gameplay a tad bit more interesting.
