Well, Im a budding synth enthusiast and am looking to buy a couple of items. I have a ton of chiptune gear such as LSDJ, Nanoloop 1.5, Nanoloop One, Nanoloop Mono, Nanoloop 2.7, DS-10, DS-10 Plus, recently purchased Pocket Music for the Gameboy Color. and a NTRQ cart for the NES. I have three of the Pocket operators, the rhythm, robot and arcade...they are ok, having trouble with the switches going bad. The company is not that great when it comes to fixing them so I'm steering clear of Teenage Engineering even though I was considering the OP-1.
So the Items I'm looking to buy are the Novation Circuit and a compliment table synth. The Dreadbox Erebus, Rolands SE-2 boutique synth, and the MakeNoise 0-Coast have stood out for me.

I used to play Violin.
It was my grand father's violin, and has been dated from around 1915-1920.
There's a writing inside stating it's a "copy of Stradivarius" (I guess, it copies the form, material and building procedure).
I hope to play again one day. I miss free time to play anything good enough.
But I learned for 5 years at music school (conservatory), and played 1 year in an orchestra.
We mainly played Mozart, which I didn't appreciate, too bad schools never acknowledge current compositor, they only swear by "classical" compositor, dead from decades.
I would have loved playing video game or movie music in an orchestra. Maybe one day, as a dream to reach....

I bought rocksmith 2014 remastered late last year. While I really don't consider myself a musician, I do have nearly an hour of playtime per day* on the cheap-ass guitar I picked up with it (a fazley FTL200BK...this thingy).

I am a drummer.
I learned just enough piano to be dangerous back in 5th and 6th grade but I did not like it much.
After that I joined the school band as a percussionist. I really liked it. Not only did I get to completely sit out on certain songs, I eventually learned drumset. But before we got here, I learned how to play snare, bass drum, xylophone or "bells" depending which version you have, triangle, wood blocks, whip, timpani, and a whole slew of other exotic percussion. Later in high school I learned marching snare. Once the seniors graduated, I was drumline first chair for 3 years straight after that. In the winters I played drumset for the basketball pep band, and one year I even did jazz band.
When I graduated from HS I moved on the college. Funny enough, even though I was 5 hours from home, I ran into one of my best friend's uncles at college. He was the worship director at a small church across the street from my college and just so happened to need a drummer. So again, I landed a 3 and a half year drumming gig at a local church. I played almost every Sunday.
After I graduated from college I found a church back home and ran the sound board for the worship team for a couple of years. After that we had a few members fall out with the church and we brought on a new director. I was the go to drummer and played about 3 sundays a month for two years until I got married and moved away. They still call me to play from time to time.

I've been told I'm "musically inclined" but I just think I love music! I've been in musicals since I was a little boy (5 years old) and I've dabbled in instruments around the same age! I picked up ocarina when I was 10 years old, and "mastered" it in a few weeks! My parents were surprised that I picked it up so fast, and I've always learned instruments pretty fast! However, my family didn't have a lot of money when we lived in the U.S. (I have nine brothers and sisters) so they didn't have the funds for me to learn piano, drums, guitar, and such. I was in Chorus/ Music Theory for 5 years so I learned to read sheet music pretty well, but I've forgotten a lot because I never got to really put it to use. I've learned Chinese faster than the rest of my siblings, and they say it's because of that "musical gift" but I just love to listen to the tone and sound of Chinese. Plus, my fiancée's mother can't speak English, so I've had to learn Chinese to speak with her! I've been writing my own music for 7 years now, but never released anything due to being very insecure! One day I might mass release my music, and hopefully the messages in them make sense. Here's an example :

I'm about to buy a banjo, it's a 5-string Epiphone MB-200. The banjo has different styles:
4-String (Celtic, Irish, etc.)
5-String (Contemporary, bluegrass, claw hammer)
6-String (Played like a guitar)
The 5-string (the one I'm getting) usually is played with 3 picks that go on the end of your hands, one for the thumb, the index, and middle. This is often represented on tablature as "TIM" each letter represnting a finger. Although the banjo can and sounds very good being strummed on, kinda sounding like an ukulele, it's usually played with picks. The notes are often played in rolls, which are repeated. You can also play the 5-String in claw hammer, which is what you call pre-Scruggs style, often used with an open back banjo. You play that style by using the backs of your fingers to hit the strings. I personally am not fond of this style because I am a big Earl Scruggs bluegrass fan, so I'll play Scruggs style or bluegrass as its called.

My first Korg Volca, the Sample OKGO edition. I picked up the special edition because its on sale for $101 at Amazon, and I had some Citibank points. The unit ended up at a cost of only $41.00. Its the same as the original Sample just with different samples loaded which can be changed. If I like this Volca I may look into buying the FM or Keys model as my second. Holding off on any major synth purchase. Want to see how the new Behringer D sounds.
