I want to buy Cave Story +, but the $29.99 price for the digital is a bit much for me, while the physical has some extra stuffs that make up for it. However. in my country, the physical is bumped up to $40.93, which becomes too expensive for me.
So...should I buy the digital one? Or should I just buy the physical one? Or neither and wait for who-knows-when sale?
Thank you.

If you like the extras stuff (I suppose some keychains, perhaps posters, and so) go for the physical.
Else, it is one of those games that I would prefer to have inside my Switch always, so I personally would prefer it digital.

Extra stuffs are actually the OST and manual, which are sold at $29.99 with the base game in other countries. Kinda wonder if I can get the OST too if I buy the digital version, since I can't find any information on the internet.

I would wait for a sale or buy it on steam, is cheaper on steam and offers the same exact content gameplay wise. Is $15 on steam normally, but due to summer sale is 33% so now is $10 Unless they added more content than the PC port, i do not recommend paying for it until a sale of %50 or more is established.
  • Original (320x240) graphics and upgraded “HD” graphics
  • Remastered music as well as the original soundtrack
  • Mix-and-match new/old artwork and music!
  • Six new play modes (including Wind Fortress, Boss Rush and more!)
  • Over 20 epic boss battles through Mimiga Island
  • 15 levels to explore in the vast world
  • 10 unique weapons to find and upgrade
  • Four unique endings
Unless you feel comfortable paying for the overpriced game, I suppose is up to you. Personally, I wouldn't until a discount is made. Otherwise, buy mighty gunvolt burst, and Blaster Master zero, which i happen to have reviewed both games and is $10 each. :)

Physical definitely.
The original version (still awesome!) is free.
If you like that, buy physical and get some neat goodies.

Cave Story, what memories playing it on a rental Macbook in Statistics class in high school, 12th grade. I played it on my home laptop at the time too. Yeah I'd go physical, just the fact it's a digital title getting the physical treatment is enough for me. I'd do the same for Shovel Knight.

Definitely physical, you get a random keychain, really nice artbook, and a soundtrack CD. I sold my quote keychain for $60 to a collector and he gave me an extra Balrog keychain he had.

Plus this version has a lot of minor changes and QoL improvements that they never advertised (you can strafe now for example, I won't spoil the rest). And there is a major multiplayer update coming later.

Digital for $30 is way too steep tho.

Isn't keychain Gamestop preorder exclusive though? In my country there's no Gamestop.

Guess the wisest decision right now is following SAK's advice: waiting for sale and getting Mighty Gunvolt Burst for some platformer fix, though I'm not really a fan of the 8-bit retro graphic :D

There's a couple more game modes as well, plus a couple of tweaks to improve gameplay that are exclusive to the Switch version.
as far as I know the extra game modes aren't Switch exclusive, since unless I'm misinformed they're the same gamemodes that have been in every CS rerelease except for like Cave Story 3D (the one with bad 3D models)

CS+ Switch has Famitracks OST, an albeit odd lighting system of some sort, and other little additions that are different from PC/Wii's Cave Story+

but anyway, I'd go physical for the purchase bonuses you get

Buy shovel knight If you never played / finished it. Its *awesome!*.

Considered it, but then I bought MGB instead since it's cheaper. Kinda need to save up some cash for Splatoon 2, Mario + Rabbids, Pokken Tournament and Super Mario Odyssey.

Might reconsider about buying it on JPN eShop since it's only $19.21 (cheaper than the current Steam sale too) and pretty much identical to the US eShop version.

Also, guess I'll import Cave Story + physical version. Good thing my dad have a friend in the US so...free shipping and no paying overpriced stuff, yay! :D

Thanks for the things, guys.
