My Gods, Nintendo.

As much as I like the idea of playing board games on my Switch, couldn't you at least have selected something that relies on something other than dice rolls? Like strategics / tactics? =S.

Some suggestions;
Power Grid?
Small World?
Carcassonne?
Adrenaline?
Viticulture?

imo digital board games are a bad idea. they just remove the point of playing a board game. I'd rather play actual video games if I'm sitting in front of a console already.

I also agree, but did you see who's developing it? Ubisoft is just milking another cash cow imo.

They aren't a bad idea, because;
- Some games are cumbersome to set up irl but only one click digitally.
- Board games aren't that portable, but they could be
- Succesful translations already exist on iOS and Android (Small World, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne)

Granted, it is hard to translate it for people that don't already know the game.
Otherwise, it should be doable, especially when they are simply turn-based, choice-driven, diceless games. it just needs the right explanations and a userfriendly interface, I guess.

Maybe next we will get the next iteration of Fortune Street. Square Enix and Nintendo characters in a more boring version of Monopoly.

The fortune streets, I think does more then monopoly does. You can do a forced buyout, can't do that with monopoly, and buy stocks, however this may seems pointless. It mildly more entertaining then monopoly, but to each of their own.

I wasn't really making a jab a Monopoly per say, but yeah I know what you are saying. Also, everyone plays Monopoly wrong. It SHOULD be a 45-60 game a best.

They are just horrible games. Games that will make you feel you have no influence on the outcome whatsoever. Probably because you actually don't have any. Only wish that kind of loss to my worst enemy.

Board games on the Switch do make sense to me, you can lay the screen down on the table, sit around it like you would a real board game, and use a joy con like a dice. It all works on paper, but the fact of the matter is, board games like Monopoly are hollow. There isn't anything to them, and its boring to play when you consider all the more immersive video games you could instead be playing. Having said that, I think some board games would be a good fit for the Switch like Risk or Settlers of Catan.

As much as i agree with you, i would have to say that there is one exception and that is Tabletop Simulator on PC. That game(?) is awesome.
