How to install Retrix (Retroarch/Libretro port) for Xbox One

Retrix(LibretroRT) is a massive project aimed at porting all libretro cores to UWP. It currently supports Nes,Snes,Sega Master System,Sega Game gear, Sega CD, sg 1000, Playstation, Gameboy, Gameboy advance, and many more to be ported soon. This guide will cover installing Retrix for your xbox one console.

[1.] Download ProjectPgeasus (If you already have ProjectPegasus this step doesn't apply)
https://github.com/wiired24/ProjectPegasus/raw/master/ProjectPegasusSetup.exe

[2.] Once Installed just open it up and select RetriX. Now just wait for it to download. All you have to do now is Sideload Retrix on to your Xbox One (If you don't know how, follow the full guide here https://github.com/wiired24/ProjectPegasus/blob/master/binaries/Installing APPX Packages.pdf )

[3.] Enjoy! :yayone:

Retrix brings with it support for local 2 player something we have not had until now. It also opens the floodgates to every single emulator that is currently inside the scope of the libretro project. You can see a full list here https://github.com/libretro

I had been sitting on releasing Retrix for quite a bit now but it has finally reached a point where it is stable enough for release. Credit goes to Albertofustonini for creating and maintaining the Retrix Project. Credit also goes to @kingtut for advocating for a Libretro/Retroarch port for Xbox One. You can follow current development on the official github page https://github.com/Aftnet/LibretroRT

I understand, the reason why I care about fixing this is that I hate the fact that everytime I touch the analog buttons. the menu shows up. so until alberto fixes this, I wanted to make it so that it only shows up by pressing the left thumbstick button. That is what I am working on right now.

Okay but for PS1 Games there are games like Spyro or Crash 3 that use the left thumbstick so even if you managed to fix it by mapping it to the left thumbstick it would only be temporary. Let's just wait for Alberto to offer a permanent fix. He's aware of the issue and I'm sure he'll be fixing it within the coming days. At least we have a workaround for now

Hell even my workaround is only a temporary fix

Well I was hoping you'd be alright lol and yeah I'm gonna look at the code again here in a bit and see if I can't figure something out. If I can't no big deal as Alberto has already said that he does intend to implement the overlay correctly for the gamepad sometime soon.

Update:
@ElijahZAwesome @dominater01 @tunip3 @Xeroyamil @kingtut I found a fix to the issue with the A button pulling up the overlay guys. Go to settings -> Video Settings -> and make sure that you select "Apps can add a border". The mouse pointer will still be there for when you need pull up the menu to save and load your game but the menu will no longer come up every single time you press the A Button.
thanks this actually works now its more playable

here is what it says on citra: "The only hard requirements for the official version of Citra is a graphics chip that supports at least OpenGL 3.3 and a 64-bit OS running on a standard PC, but you definitely want a processor with the highest possible performance per core."

It's incredible how just a few of you guys have made such awesome ports in almost no time. Thanks for this! Hopefully we can see Quake and doom ports alongside N64 stuff soon!

well retroarch can play doom and other ports so maybe
I contacted the guys that are working on retroarch. They are currently working on ps1 core, but they said that n64 maybe problematic until they rewrite the code to work using hardware rendering. currently retroarch on xbox only uses software rendering. I do not thing it is impossible though. As far as prboom goes (the doom core), I do not think it should be hard since it doesn't use 3d acceleration as much. but I will need to ask them.

We're a fun group of people lol. N64 is already available through win64e10 but it's hit and miss though. I'd wait because as Retrix continues to mature more cores will be added including n64. Right now PS1 is being added to Retrix something we are all very excited for and have been waiting a while for. As @dominater01 pointed out libretro already supports doom and quake ports so i'd say yes it is likely

xb1emu has a history of not being the most reliable so i'd veer away to be quite honest. Reicast is officialially supported by the libretro project as a core so It's likely it will get added to Retrix alongside PS1, N64 and others

yeah, I just hope they find a way to release cores on the xbox one. cause apparently the retrix team are having problems because retrix uses software rendering other than hardware rendering.

Well have you ever studied history tut?
Depending on what you mean? I mean this is the first time something like the xbox one allowing emulators without being hacked. and the n64 emulator always runs badly on other consoles (as far as I am aware). most emulators running on consoles stop at playstation.
