Hey guys,

(Very) long time browser, first time poster. (When I need help, typical I know.)

- o3DS using 9.3

Quick thing, so I updated to B9S using https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s

I can open all boot menus (via booting with start/R/select held), just that my games/theme won't show up. I know they are there, as they were before and space occupied on a 32gb card is 200mb.

How can I look to troubleshoot/remedy this? I couldn't see anything in the FAQ's.

Unsure what other information you guys need, so feel free to let me know. Thanks so much.

EDIT: FIX https://gbatemp.net/threads/a9lh-to-b9s-no-data-showing-on-sd.473970/#post-7387807

Did you ever format your console? Are the files for another console? If yes, you can't use them and should delete the Nintendo 3DS folder as it is just taking up space.

You can check by going to System Settings, Software, 3DS Software. Do the games appear, but greyed out with an X? You can make them come back by installing the tickets again, using TikShop is the easiest way. If they don't appear at all, you can't get them to show up.

Games are for this console, not formatted. They don't show up at all, just taking up space. My question now then, is how do I get fbi, tixhax or even luma updater onto it? There's literally just the default apps and gateway (which works).
did you perhaps use something like menuhax + emunand?
No menuhax, just al9h which worked perfectly until using updating to b9s. Again, I can open all menus, it's 'just' getting me old content to show up.

Menuhax sounds familiar, how could this help me?

if you used menuhax + emunand then you probably "unlinked" it? menaing your systems real NAND has one SD encryption key and your emunand on SD har it's own key. so all your games would be for the emunand and now you're on sysnand so ofcourse they don't show up.

First test this for me. Hold down Select when booting up, you should get the Luma config menu.
Now see if the autoboot sysnand/emunand is checked or not (is used to be autboot sysnand but now it's emunand, since by default we want sysnand nowadays)

if not, set it to autoboot emunand and reboot, does your games show up now? if yes, then you want to dump your emunand in Godmode9 and restore it to your sysnand.

Thanks for this. Nothing shows up if ticked or unticked. Gateway still shows though haha. Very odd. The tixhax way sounds logical, although how would I try this method?

Did you check like I told you to? Go into 3DS Software and see if they show up or not. If they show up but are greyed out, you can fix with tikShop. If they don't show up at all that means you formatted at some point (including if you used emuNAND) or they are for a different console, and you can't resurrect them (unless they are for that console and you restore a NAND backup from when they were working).

If by "tikhax" you mean tikShop, just download and install from FBI's TitleDB feature, then run it. This will not help you though unless you checked the software to see if they show up but are greyed out, like I said.

Hmmm, so meant to say above, games don't show at all in software/saves/data. I haven't formatted, although actually what I did was move stuff from one sd card to another, as my switch needed one. So put all the stuff on my PC, then put onto a new sd. Would that of done anything? I believe I actually have a NAND backup. Should I consider restoring that? If so, how do I go about doing so?
EDIT: Will try this when home tonight. https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage.html thanks for your help. I'd usually sort this out on my own, very annoying!

oh so you've switched sd cards! then probably whats happened is your emunand, which is a hidden partition on the card is actually now in your switch...

I hope you have not formatted the SD card inside the switch. then your emunand would be gone.
yeah you should be able to restore that nand backup you have if it's from the emunand you porbably had it will make your games show up again. use Godmode9 to restore it to system nand.

THERE. WE. GO. So, I'm sure I did format, thinking that all my data is safely backed up. I'll be home in a couple hours to check, but at least I'll be able to restore NAND. I have something called "NANDmin.bin" (Would be the default filename) - Is this what I need to restore? Also, the NAND backup will be from Firmware 9.2ish (Nov 2016). Is that okay to put onto my 9.4? If so, I'm going to take the leap later and will update.

(Again, thanks so much for the help)

FIXED:

So I had two folders in the 'Nintendo 3DS' folder, which I read isn't correct. I obviously didn't follow the guide properly and left one in there. All my games, themes and saves work perfect, along with Gateway.

To he guys above: Thanks so much, you're beasts.
