Althought i had to wait for the splash screen to dissappear and then i could remove the SD.

Until they find the cause of all these bans, I'm not sure. I have Wi-Fi on currently, and haven't received a ban...

There's a note in the guide about avoiding the bans. It might work or it might not.

I'm sure you've gotten this question a hundred times, but is it safe to update to the newest firmware, which i think is 11.5? Maybe 11.4, not sure. Also I have boot9strap on 11.3 if that matters.

Yes, as Quantumcat stated, its for some cheats that do not exist for ntr and with gateway i have more space for games with basically having internal micro sd for cia´s and gateway micro sd for .3ds games. as the gateway 3ds is switchable more easily to comapred to internal on new 3dsxl i just want wo keep my gateway setup with luma. it has best of both world this way. i don´t care about online play, so don´t need newest firmware so far. i really don´t know why people keep bashing on gateway...it has benefits like more space for games with switchable micro sd.

As i read youabras post i have some concerns again. i remember when i "installed" a9lh in october or november, plailects guide was referring to menuhax if i remember correctly. so do i have to remove that first to not get any troubles ?
how do i remove menuhax on sysnand ? i use gateway emunand as standard boot for luma

I have a problem with my Monster Hunter Generations installation, every time i start it, after the 3DS logo it just reboots the console and sent me back to the home screen, downloaded with FunkeyCIA, 2nd download, first one was corrupted, installed with FBI 2.4.8 on Luma 7.0.5, Nintendo 2DS 11.4.0-37, ACNL Welcome Amiibo runs just fine, thats the only other game i have installed on my system and with the same method.

So i have read plailects guide several times to be prepared (https://3ds.guide/updating-to-boot9strap).
As i want to use emunand and not ctr nand i can completely ignore section IV - CTRNand Luma3ds right ???

EDIT: I am now making Nand Backups for any case. i should be safe if i make backups with hourglass 9 for sysnand and emunand right ?
So i would be able to revert back anytime if something goes wrong ?
And how do i revert back ? only with hardmod ? or can i revert back without need of hardmod ?

Hi there gbatemp ! I have a problem,when I stick in a ds and launch it it gives me an error and forces me to force shut it down I have b9s with luma 3ds,what happend ?

Fixed it myself: : just go to FBI, check titles, then select Monster hunter generations, then click the "import seed" option, wait, exit FBI and its done!!!

Yep you can do that. Or you can try an 11.2 CTR transfer, look up "3Down".

11.2 CTR Transfer can be used for downgrade from 11.4 right?
does that mean I can update all the way to 11.4, do system transfer (because I need to move NNID to other device) and then just downgrade to 11.2?

I get Error 014-0062 while attempting a System Transfer from my source CFW DS. How do I fix this?

EDIT: Figured it out. Just takes trying over and over again.

EDIT 2: New Question:

After doing a system transfer from Source CFW DS to Target Stock DS, do I actually move the Source DS's SD card to the Target according to ninty's instructions?

So what's the benefit of switching to B9S than A9LH?
I don't want to do another update to a different thing if it's not worth it.

first thing that comes into my mind is that luma does not support A9LH anymore. But i am pretty sure there are more reasons that are important.

EDIT: that means you can´t update Luma anymore when staying on A9LH

What??? Any source on that statement?
Sounds like planned obsolescence for me unless there's a good reason for not continue to support it :/

I already saw the question being asked but didnt see the answer, Can I update trough system settings and keep boot9, or am I supposed to wait for the next stable build?
(Pokemon sun requires an update to play online)

As too many postings came after my question i will just ask again before i do something wrong:

Do i really have to do "Step IV - CTRNAND Luma3DS" from plailects guide (https://3ds.guide/updating-to-boot9strap) ?
I only use Gateway Emunand, standard boot is Luma3DS to GW Emunand and everything seems to work fine after i finished step III.
For what is Step IV useful ? Should i do it or don´t do it ? If i should do it, please tell me why it is needed, as i really do not understand

EDIT: Nands are separated, each has its own original Nintendo 3DS Folder, if it is important
