It was a free entrypoint,
you simply send a modified letter in Swapdoodle and if the other person opens it, they can get into HBL
I think i never do it.
Only things that i ever do were, changing theme with CHMM and Themely, using the freeshop for downloading 4-5 games, and NTR plugin with mhgen for lifebars, also i'm european, since the ban wave isnt so spread here i can think that i'm almost safe right?

I can't say how many modified letters I sent to test it, and I am not banned.
You're also European/French, which seems to be unaffected at this point (seen a lot of French users report to not be banned). I dunno if this matters or not, but I'm willing to bet that this is on a per region basis. Most banned are from North America at this point in time.

Do you mean using USA IP or USA console? My 3ds's region is USA but I live in Brazil(using the brazillian e-shop). I'm on Luma + b9s, been on A9LH SD before, been hacking, cloning, going online until 2-3 months ago. Never used/received/installed doodlebomb and I'm not banned.

Alright, so it's looking like Doodlebomb may be one of the main reasons. To those that didn't use it and still got banned there's apparently another cause. Though the majority that voted that haven't been banned yet never touched it.

I sincerely apologize for starting another poll, but the main thread on the recent banwave is moving entirely too fast and people are way too concerned with arguing over things completely unrelated to the subject at hand. And again, I'm trying to narrow down exactly what sparked this. The bans seem entirely too sporadic to just be a blanket ban on everyone using homebrew and SpotPass as not everyone in this criteria have been banned (yet). Anyway, I was thinking that it's a high possibility that the bans may be related to Doodlebomb users, whether they be senders and/or receivers, since it obviously relies on Nintendo's online services. Again, I apologize for opening another poll amongst the hundreds of others, but as a community I feel we should work to pinpoint this instead of relying on conjecture and assumptions. This could also explain why vanilla consoles have also been banned as they could have received the exploited message but never carried through with the rest of the homebrew process.

Also, if this scenario has already been concluded then feel free to report this thread to have it closed.

Edit: It may have also affected those that installed it offline.

Don't be sorry for trying to help people.

Hell no dude. There's so much spanish people that's been banned, and I know people banned that didn't ever used this. So no, this is likely not the motive.

Going to my friends list then trying moon online

Then after updating to boot9 i went to my friends list and immediately got the error
The ban doesn't take affect until you reboot the console, which is why it didn't happen until you installed B9S.

I also said that this probably wasn't the only culprit, but does seem to be one of the most logical ones.
