on the google form, the EUR sector of the "which region is your 3ds" seems to be growing. Looks like they're now banning more EUR people, or EUR people are starting to notice.ç

As of 5 minutes ago, I hadn't been banned. Will check again in a while.

EUR people were sleeping when the bans started. It's afternoon in Europe now, people are noticing them.

is it gonna be possible for us to sign our own lfcs b as legal since b9s is now a thing?
or are we gonna be stuck with the same method as before?

Granted, the rep might have been misinformed. Also, this isn't a hyperban like the Sun/Moon early access bans. At least I think those were hyperbans? In any case, we can still access the eshop.
There were reps who said the Pokemon Sun/Moon bans were also temporary, so take that with a grain of salt. Nintendo has also said in a statement, "This ban is effective immediately and requests to remove the ban will not be processed," which seems to suggest that it's permanent. Considering these things, the fact that Nintendo has apparently been working very hard to setup this banwave, and the fact that Nintendo has no incentive to unban CFW users, it's probably permanent.

The only odd thing is that banned users still have access to the eShop. I personally think that says less about the duration of the ban and more about their internal decision making process regarding the kind of ban they wanted to impose. Ignoring the Pokemon Sun/Moon bans, there are historical accounts of 002-0102 bans that have been permanent but without an eShop ban.

Still not banned tho.

Can you link me to the statement?

Looks like this is probably the biggest factor (if it's not the only one) which gets you a ban (since it's now roughly 1/5 chances of ban with it off, and 1/2 with it on).

Still, more factors might be in place. Nintendo might be banning for several reasons, among which the easiest to see would be spotpass.

I have 2 units with B9S, both with this option on. One N3DS XL, one 2DS, neither banned. It might be of note that I never had to use any method to unban them in the past. I now turned the option off though, to be safe.

You can find it in the first post: https://gbatemp.net/threads/regarding-the-recent-3ds-banwave.471781/

The website this was pulled from keeps changing. For the current version: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/results.jsp?error_code=002-0102&system=3DS&locale=lang

If you Google search the quote, you can see where it was on that page before.
Well, I give up. Now it says it can't connect to an access point?

The Nintendo 3DS is unable to connect to an Access Point. What to do will depend on where you are connecting from:

Connecting from a wireless home network:
  • Make sure that the Nintendo 3DS system is within 30 feet of the wireless access point and facing in its general direction.

  • Make sure that any other interfering devices, such as microwaves and cordless phones, are turned off.

Connecting from a Hotspot
  • Ensure the Hotspot location does not require an internet browser to setup an account, accept a use agreement, or enter a password before accessing their Wi-Fi service. If the location requires any of these items, you will not be able to connect to the internet with your Nintendo 3DS system.

  • Make sure that the Nintendo 3DS system is within 30 feet of the wireless access point and facing in its general direction. Signal strength can vary, depending on where the access point's signal is coming from. (Please do not sit or stand in places that will interfere with the location's customers or staff.)

  • Orient the Nintendo 3DS so that your body or other objects (such as walls, plants, furniture, and other people) are not blocking the signal. Also, make sure there is no interference from wireless phones (cell phones are okay).

  • If the connection continues to fail, this Hotspot may have their router set up in a manner that is not compatible with the system. We recommend trying a different location.

This makes no sense, even for Nintendo. Sheesh.

That's purely cosmetical (a sprintf in system settings), so no, that's never sent

Okay alright that's off the table then. It was just an idea I had when I realized that it does spill over to Badge Arcade but I have no knowledge about the inner workings of the OS.

I have also purchased my games actually, which also might be of note. I didn't pirate my games.
