Had a stock n3DS XL on 11.2 firmware. Did the B9Strap install and it went well (except for the fact that I forgot how to clear save data on my OoTHax) - no, I didn't use Soundhax because it's messy and I don't like having to clear stuff off the sd card. GodMode9 is slightly user unfriendly because it looks scary, but I took my time doing that.

Will update all three of my A9LH installations tomorrow. Probably need to redownload Fieldrunners off of the eshop to set it up again to use as a sudokuhax thing as well.
Messy how? It's just 2 files. Easy to delete afterwards.

Success with 3ds.guide, even though I had a messed up A9LH install with 3 stage2 payloads based on an old version of this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-three-stage-2.429303/

I successfully installed boot9strap from A9LH, however I'm having an issue completing section IV of the 3ds.guide to configure CTRNAND. When holding down the start button and powering the new 3DS on, it won't take me to the Luma3DS chainloader menu to get into GodMode9. It will bypass the chainloader menu and just do a normal start up. How do I get the chainloader menu back? Holding select during startup does take me to the Luma3DS configuration menu if that helps.

NM. I figured it out. I accidentally place GodMode9.bin into the /luma/payloads directory instead of GodMode9.firm.

I recently hacked 4 OLD 3DS using boot9strap:

- 2 with Emunand installed in them. No problem
- 1 With no CFW whatsoever
- 1 with A9LH previously installed

No out of ordinary problems whatsoever.

So far two successes on both my main and backup n3ds and the only "failure" I have had is that I can't seem to find my o3ds (which is/was currently on menuhax + aureinand) to install b9s on it.

I've been using MenuHax + EmuNAND with Luma for a long time and decided to try the new Boot9Strap method yesterday, and it worked. However, I'm having serious problems with the Luma chainloader in order to open Godmode9. I don't know why, but booting with START doesn't do anything, and booting with SELECT doesn't open the Luma options page. I have to delete luma\config.bin in order to change the settings.

The only way I can access Godmode9is if I put the Godmode9.firm in the root of my SD card and name it boot.root.

I thought I fixed it last night by updating Luma (Was already 7.1) through Lumaupdater, but then I transfered my EmuNAND to my sysNAND and now I always boot into the 3DS menu :(

Can you access Luma3DS config still or that doesn't work anymore?
Try testing you buttons. https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-button-test-a-very-simple-button-testing-application.471147/

Sure, I can access it, but only if I remove the config.bin file in the SD:\luma\ folder
I assume that my START button works since I press it to save and exit once I'm in Luma options.
Are you holding Start or Select BEFORE pressing the power button? You might be pressing them too late.

OMG, I'm such a n00b  I never realized you're supposed to press Start before pressing the power button!! This is exactly why I never installed A9LH, it's not the guide I don't trust, it's myself

I'd say 100% safe so far, updating from A9LH using the 3ds.guide, as I have done 3 consoles of my own and my neighbors today. Not seen any bricks using the 3ds.guide update today??
Ehi neighbour !
Yes ?
Can you hack my 3ds ?
Sure thing !

Hi guys,
i have a stock New 3DSXL that i wanted to install CFW through https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(homebrew-launcher)
Section II - Launching SafeB9SInstaller
i launched udsploit and after launching safehax
the 3ds shutdown but i cannot restart it anymore
i have a quick blue led on and off
and the 3ds wont
is it bricked ?

thank you guys
Do you have a firm file on your SD card? The light turning on then off means the installation was successful but it can't find a payload to launch.

You're missing boot.firm. And you should pay more attention to which files the guide asks you to put on your SD card - you usually don't extract a whole folder to your card.

  1. Copy boot.firm from the Luma3DS .7z to the root of your SD card

Read lower..

Your device will boot into boot9strap, then shutdown automatically because it does not yet have a payload to launch
  • Your device will not boot until you continue with the next page’s instructions; do not panic, this is normal
