Do you think someone will work on a NTRBootHax firmware for DSTwo cards? As far as I know NTRCardHax worked on that DSCard with a custom firmware so I presume it will be possible to do it with sighaxed bootcode and use it to hack any existing 3DS/2DS console regarding its firmware version or even restore NAND bricked ones !

Without a backup you might be SOL

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also, have there been a lot of bricks with B9S? Or is it the Sighax installer thats giving everyone the bricks?

I've not heard of anyone particular working on ntrboothax for any flashcard. If they are, they're keeping to themselves.

A 3DS pandora battery is something we could all do with.

Okay, mayhaps this question been answered before, but.
With Sighax, which can be used with hardmod no problem, will it be possible to use it for restoring NAND-bricked consoles by injecting signed firm directly into the console without having latest working SysNAND backup for bricked console? I might misunderstand concept somewhere, yet still I am quite curious if something like this would be possible. Like, having universal NAND-image for system restoring without contacting Ninty.

So just so it's clear to me. What are the benefits as an end-user with this? Or is it just more secure and newer?
Does it help with (early Pokemon SM) unbans for example?

one benefit is that in the future it might be possible to unbrick consoles by using a ds flashcart and button combo

Exactly i want to know how to use sighax to sign other nand backup to my bricked new 3ds or fix my dump. My console brick after I downgraded to 2.1 and install arm9, when i restore original dump 11.3 keep a9hl he boots up with BSOD error NCSD HEADER signature hash

Sighax isn't going to let you restore a NAND backup from System A to System B any more than A9LH did. The encryption keys are different, so you'd have to decrypt the backup using System A's keys and re-encrypt them with System B, plus whatever other fixups are done by the ctrtransfer process. (You'd also need the original NCSD header from System B; otherwise, DSi mode won't work.)

That's what I was thinking.
1.- Install B9S on a bricked system with hardmod.
2.- Do ctrnand transfer with a clean img.
3.- Profit.

Successfully installed BS9, I had been holding on till updating system firmware to 1.4, should be safe to do so now right? Otherwise I'll just keep on using cttrpwn!

@Plailect How would we uninstall Sighax/B9S
You could install the original Nintendo FIRM into the FIRM partitions, but I'm not sure why you'd want to do that...

Note that while this wasn't safe to do on New3DS with A9LH, it should be safe with B9S because the secret sector (sector 0x96) is restored as part of SafeB9SInstaller.

What would it name be ( I may have overwitten it with a sighax firm) Also, I just want to test something.

The original FIRM files are available on the 3DS guide as magnet links. Check the "Installing boot9strap (hardmod)" section.

Do note that if the FIRM you install doesn't match the OS installed on CTR NAND, it might not boot. You may be able to boot into recovery mode to do a system update, though this will bring you to 11.4. If you currently have B9S+11.4, installing the original 11.4 FIRM will make it impossible to reinstall B9S unless you have DSiWareHax or a hardmod.
