I dunno, some of the characters can stay gone in my opinion. If they're not going to the do the full Pokemon Trainer thing switching between the 3 pokemon, then I think just Charizard of the three should be the only of those solo Pokemon there, else there are simply too many Pokemon fighters, especially from the first generation. I don't think anyone wants Pichu back really either. Snake would be nice to see come back, but I don't really see it happening. But I could definitely see Ice Climbers and Wolf returning. And again, I'd like to see Young Link if they really changed him up and based him on Majora's Mask and transforming between his 3 forms. But if they just went straight up Young Link that we had in Melee, it'd be a pass from me on that prospect as well.
As far as the Pokemon Trainer thing goes, they could just do what Project M did and make them three separate characters. Ivysaur is so much fun to play as (In PM) and would like to see him (her?) come back. And a Majora's Mask Young Link would be sweet.

But that's what I'm saying. If they don't make it the transforming version. I don't want Squirtle and Ivysaur as separate characters, because Charizard was the best of the three (and the most iconic), and it would be too much 1st gen representation. And frankly, Ivysaur really isn't an iconic Pokemon, squirtle is, but Ivysaur is a real oddball. It works for me as 3 characters in one, but if they still don't bring the transforming aspect back, then I don't want all 3 separate fighters in the game and instead just want Charizard like they've done.

I completely agree. He is an odd ball and there would be too much 1st gen representation. Over the past few months regarding a possible port of Tra- i mean Smash 4 to the Switch. People were hoping they would add a few more characters. A few people have pointed out that if possible, brawl move sets could be ported over (needing various touch ups and changes of course, eliminating the time to create a new move set) thus, giving us more(?) characters.

In lamen's terms, I expect brawl characters because we "could" get more in a short amount of time.
I think this idea could be backed up by the recent port of Ice climbers to the Wii U, the mod retains their move set and it looks pretty nice. :)

Well I definitely think Ice Climbers will come back. Wolf has a strong possibility of coming back I think as well. But I'm very doubtful of Squirtle and Ivysaur and frankly would only want them if they did the whole Pokemon Trainer thing again. I'd like to see Snake return, but if he didn't come back for Wii U/3DS, I find it unlikely he'd come back for the Switch version.

Then I don't think anyone wants Pichu back, and I'm certainly not expecting him. And like I said, I'd only like to see Young Link "come back" if they completely changed him and based him on Majora's Mask and he just transformed between Deku, Goron, and Zora with Fierce Deity being its final smash, but I'm overall doubtful that transformations in general would return, and even if they did, who knows if such an idea would have even occurred to them. But otherwise, the Melee version of Young Link is too redundant, as its too similar to Toon Link, and would make 3 versions of Link in general that would all play similarly.

At this point in terms of returning missing characters, I think realistically we could expect two: Ice Climbers and Wolf. Though I'd love to see Snake and that version of Young Link.

1.) The Fact that Dr. Mario, Lucina, and Dark Pit exists makes me think that Nintendo could put Pichu in the game. :rofl2: (Plus Gen 2 rep?)
2.) I suppose having the trainer back would be fine if they didn't use that AWFUL mechanic for stamina and types like they used in Brawl. Honestly, I would just use Ivysaur. :creep:
3.) I'm totaly on board with Young Link Idea. Something along the lines of this: https://smashboards.com/threads/rev...erce-deity-transformation-screenshots.435063/
4.) Snake.... I wish. :(
5.) To me, wolf is the best candidate to get a reappearance. I think most would agree.

I think the question is: Decidueye, Incineroar or Primarina? Obviously Incineroar would fit a brawler the most, but I have to imagine playing as Decidueye could be real fun. Of course we could get Tapu Koko, that's a rather recognizable non-starter new mon a la Lucario or Mewtwo...

Wait, hold on... LUSAMINE - with the obvious transformation as her Final Smash. I would pay any money. Alternatively, just make that one mod I've seen into reality and give us a Rosalina/Luma-like combo of Lillie and Nebby.

1. They wont. Nobody wants him, and they clearly recognize it. But I wouldn't be opposed to seeing some other Gen 2 representation (maybe Meganium? Get a 3rd starter pokemon in their final stage of evolution as a grass type to compliment Charizard and Greninja, though I think Sceptile would probably make the best choice in this regard, but he's not gen 2)
2. I didn't mind how the Pokemon Trainer played really. Having to change pokemon based on their stamina added an extra element of strategy with the character and really required that you got decent with all 3 fighters, which I did. I can see how others might not like this different playstyle, but it worked for me
3. Yeah, Young Link like that would be awesome
4. Same, but realistically, probably not gonna happen
5. I think Ice Climbers will appear before Wolf honestly. The Switch wont be restricted to what the 3DS is capable of and I'm sure Nintendo is aware of all the people that were asking where the hell they are. But I think both are probably going to reappear

Really hope Nintendo doesn't title it "Super Smash Bros. for Switch" that would be a really shitty title, and need not remind they did it for 3DS/WiiU.

Anyway, I'd like to see Goku, Kid Naruto, Luffy, Seiya, Saitama / Genos (One Punch Man characters), Gabumon, Skull Greymon, Gotsumon, Pumpkinmon, etc. But yeah.. these will probably never appear on Smash 5 or any Smash.

1. Ya, I know. It was just a joke. ;)
2. Fair enough. I respect that,
5. Well, reports did say that that Nintendo did have Ice Climbers Working on the Wii U version......????????:unsure::unsure:(Sauce Not Available)

I think you misread the title. Sure they will release a Jump Stars game for the switch anyway. /s

noun, plural anathemas.
1. a person or thing detested or loathed: That subject is anathema to him.

I got sick of seeing so many character from that franchise, Sakurai did it to troll people who wanted more variation.
I got board yesterday and made a representation chart. I was actually suprised to see that Mario is the most represented (That make sense though) with FE/Pokemon coming in second.
