Like I said, there have been no reports for playing an out of region game online. Why on earth would they start now? Especially after giving us legitimate region free on the Switch? Your logic is dumbfounded.

Thousands of people have played MHXX with the English patch, went online, talked English in a Japanese game, on a out of region console with hundreds if not thousands of hours of gameplay, with no repercussions and are still playing til this day.

So yes, continue sprouting fake information. I'll see how you self-destruct with your ignorance.

Monster Hunter Frontier is a PC game that's managed by Capcom online, a different company from the main Capcom company that manages the mainstream MH series on 3DS.

Tri is on Wii, MH4/4G/X/XX is on 3DS. So please try harder for 3DS relevant information.

I was just trying to give the dude legit advice about avoiding bans in general. Yes, it's been reported more than once in multiple places for this game too. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being safe vs sorry.

Grow up dude. You're acting like you can't be banned for what he did, when there is a very good chance he can (and did apparently). I gave him legit advice on how to fix it, and avoid it in the future. Hop off your pedestal.

Not finding any reports of bans for this game. Anywhere.. Searched high and low. Even on these forums. Anything involving a ban usually involved some forn of modified files. Not the game itself.

The stupid thing is that you think playing out of region games gets your console banned when there's no evidence to support it. Yes, you're giving advice but bad ones and that's even worse.

People also played online with the Japanese FE Echoes + English Patch way before the release date of the English FE Echoes. Did you see any bans? Anywhere?

Don't know if this counts, EU Sun & Moon got a later release date compare to ROW.
People who go online in EU even though they were using legit game cart, got banned.

Well, it may vary from game to game about the ban policy. But, I agree that we shouldn't play out-of-region online to be safe (unless no ban confirm).
PS. Another of my theory, OP's friend just give him some random public friend localfriendseed_b that has't ban at that time.
But, got ban already right now. Since If it's me, I wouldn't risk my localfriendseed_b for anyone except myself.
And, I don't think his friend was kind enough to buy a new 3DS just to give localfriendseed_b to a friend.

That's the thing, TC already got banned once and he got banned again. The public localfriendseed_b gets banned from time to time. TC said "his friend" did it for him, meaning he has no idea where it came from.

Well got the phone call done with Nintendo. "Unauthorized software," temporary ban. *Shrugs* I don't know, they said they definitely caught something Monday. What did I use Monday? Hmmm? NTR CFW. PKMN-NTR, which I always do for both. Didn't write anything really illegal, no shiny Keldeo or stuff like that. Friends List app? Uhhhh, FTPD? The guy reassured me that unatuhorized software was used, they're not lying, blah blah blah, I played it off like "I don't remember anything out of the ordinary," and just went into an "Okay" fit. Truth be told, I haven't slept yet, it's 10:30AM, been up since 3PM, yeah, wacky sleeping schedule. I guess this will be up to another 30 days. They never say how long the ban is exactly.
