Anyone else have this happen? I have the Powersaves standard kit with one PowerTag and the reader/writer that plugs into USB. Tonight the PowerTag just stopped working. One minute it was fine, the next it's just dead.

I had just used it in BotW - so the last thing that happened was being read, not overwritten. It worked, then I put it back on the reader, and it was like it wasn't there. Normally when you place the PowerTag on the reader the reader lights up in the front. Now nothing. Controller doesn't see it either.

The reader sees a real Amiibo fine, so it's definitely the PowerTag.

Any way to resurrect it? I had hoped to avoid paying Codejunkies $20 shipped for a set of three PowerTags when I only paid $15 for this kit.

Avoid Codejunkies and buy NQ Elite or other powersaves.
Their shitty design always broke in my experience... You could try dumping data from that powertag and see if something got corrupted.

Since apparently powertags have their own firmware, it could be issue with firmware.
The second guess? Hm, take it apart and look at soldering & connection points. Their products tend to have awful soldering and overally build quality.

Thanks!

It's even weirder than that. The Switch and the Powersaves reader don't see the tag, but the WiiU sees it fine. Bizarre.

I don't know how to dump data from that tag since the reader won't see it.

Will go google NQ Elite. I thought Powersaves was my only option since I don't have any Android phones.

These tags have been shown to burn out after a while. When I made the serial number changing script for them the extra use to farm Breath of the Wild rewards caused at least half a dozen to burn out, including my own.

I bought a PowerTag set as well before buying 25mm NTAG215 stickers and made Amiibo coins out of them using 26mm coin cases and my label maker. Now my PowerTag set seems useless by comparison.

Can you do this without either an Android phone or soldering skills?
