Hiya everyone, sorry the...big gap of news. I've been pretty busy and , by the look of things, @EarthDarkness too. Needless to say, once i have news i'll update.

See ya later!
Hello PablitoX, I have been following your old thread from 2014 and then this new one till now. I always thought of creating an account and then supporting you guys by creating an account here but for one reason or another, it never happened. However, finally I decided to do so. I must say, your will to do this was exceptional and I never thought I would see fruition to this project after all these years. Congratulations to everyone who contributed make this :)

Btw I played one of the recent patches and while the translation is good, localisation isn't. Perhaps you could get someone to help you localize?

everything's translated, and the script is on proofreading phase.

Not exactly, remember we've only finished the main story for now.

That's one of the things I'm trying to fix as I go over the script again. It's especially prevalent in the early parts of the game as you have seen since those were done first, and by many different people. Unfortunately I'm not much of a writer, and I don't know of any other EN-JP translators who'd be willing to take on the task. For now I'm doing what I can to make it read better and fixing minor mistakes as I go.

heyo! i've been following the project from the beginning all those years ago and i thought i would pop in and offer my assistance with the script/proofreading; i'm certainly no jp to en translator and the only translating i'm able to do is chinese to english (and even that's a bit choppy haha), but i'm majoring in english literature if that counts for anything and i can certainly clean things up a bit if needed!

Hello! I am new to this kind of thing and am a bit stumped. Can somebody inform me on how to put the patch into the game? Do I need to use something specific? Maybe a specific ROM?

Not that much of an update, but the sntranslation site is finally down. With no way to contact the owner, it's been lost. Not that it was anything worthy there, but if there was a new one, what would you like to see?

I dunno, I'm fine with using this site for communication.

As for progress reports, clearly I'm too lazy to do that. So I've set up a Github page for the script translation. Here is the link:

https://github.com/salixa/SNSC3-Translation

This way we have another location to store the files as well an easier way to track progress. Those who are interested can look at the frequency and volume of commits and make their own judgement.
The files are up to date, with proofreading currently midway through Day 03.

I've also been writing a validator for the script which has turned out more difficult than I originally thought. This is under ScriptValidator.
What I've got now can validate that the structure of the XML files is correct, as well as some of the validation on the text between <ascii> elements.
This is like the second notable thing I've written in Python (the first of which was organizing this script...) so if anyone is willing to tear apart my code, I'd appreciate the feedback.

That's great and I wished @EarthDarkness github was public. I already feel bad at not completing the text previewer but i have gotten so busy i have forgotten it. :(
Still i know a bit of python so i'll take a look at the validator!

There's a lot of stuff in there. I haven't looked into too much yet. I'd assume most of it is miscellaneous dialogue for random npc conversations and side quests. However there are also much longer files that may be story related, but we don't know where they fit in chronologically. And that goes back to the original problem of translating without context, which really sucks.

I haven't uploaded the patch; should probably do that at some point. Is the one in the OP up to date?
