Sorry, I meant if you're going outside. I don't think anyone has a use for playing games on the Switch when they're right near their PC.
I think some people who have PC's in other rooms and want to play in their bedroom or somewhere else in the house, me personally I'd use this to play games on my bed before I go to sleep

Primarily as a console gamer, this would be a huge selling point for me, if it does happen. I have nothing against pc gaming, in fact I do pc game a little and I understand the pc games will get a much higher resolution, framerate etc, but for whatever reason, I've always preferred plopping down in front of the tv with a game controller in my hand. I mean the way my living room is setup up, I could just swivel my monitor towards the couch and get some sort of gamepad which "should" be the same experience, but for some reason, its different. Can't really explain why. The other issue would be affording a Switch, I'm really broke right now, with no signs of things getting better financially in the near future....

Reasons why Ninty won't let this slide:
  • What is the point of releasing console games if they can be launched from the PC?
  • Even if somebody find an excuse to the reason above, there will still be sales losses.
  • If there is direct communication between Switch and PC, somebody will dig deeply into finding a way to exploit it
  • Destroys concept of VC because of emulation

While I agree that it's unlikely to actually happen, to your first point.
1. Nintendo games are not available on p.c.
2. Switch is also a handheld, can't stream p.c with no access point.
3. Streaming is never 100% ideal, it lags glitches sound cuts out etc.
4. How many people have a rig capable of running new titles or even a gaming pc at all.
5. PC gaming doesnt fit well into a family surrounding, sat at a desk in the corner of another room is a bit antisocial with kids and a missus.
6. If this was the case why would we have consoles or indeed multi platform releases at all.
7. Console gamers choose consoles over pc for a multitude of reasons, upgrades, drivers, hardware issues etc etc

How exactly would generic network communication between Switch and PC allow for an "exploit"? You do know that this is already possible because Switch communicates with network routers and Nintendo's servers, right? (Nintendo doesn't run their eShop servers on Switches; that would be ridiculously stupid.)

Game streaming just sucks. Compressed images and input lag make it not worth it.
It's pretty much flawless (even 4K) with Nvidia gamestream on my Shield TV. Of course that's with both devices connected to the 5GHz band of my router. Streaming over the internet is an entirely different matter, still a fair number of rough edges.

Game streaming can never be flawless.

This should be a no brainer from nintendo.

they greenlight, fuck load of people by switches including PC gamers, they neglect third party titles but buy all first party ones = win
they greenlight, fuck load of people by switches including PC gamers, third parties now actually want to develop for the system longterm as they cant ignore the huge user base = win

the only reason not to do this is stupidity

im on the fence about buying the switch but if it allowed me to play dark souls 3 from my bedroom (a game which is never coming to the switch anyway).. i'd do it.

He was talking about flawless. With game streaming, you will always have compressed streams, lags and data loss.
He actually said 'pretty much' flawless, and with the right rig & router I think you'd be surprised how close it gets. True there'll always be that teeny tiny bit of lag that'll have the anally retentive who wouldn't touch a wireless pad with a bargepole kicking off, but for normal people , it's already good enough, at 1080p/60fps...

yeah unless your playing a fighting game that needs 100% pitch perfect stuff every other game can handle a tiny unoticable ms.
