It's a lot of fun but if you go into it expecting anything other than Mario Kart 8, then you'll be disappointed. Basically, it's Mario Kart 8: Game of the Year Edition.
Online
Have played a long while on the online ranked matches and mostly what comes up are 100cc races rather than 150cc, you know what that means, extremely slow and sluggish races. Boring. I assume by 4k and up it should be automatically 150cc-only.
I didn't notice any lag while playing.
200cc Single Player Cups
I have found them much easier than when I played on my WiiU, don't think Nintendo made them noob-friendly but it sure feels different and more appealing to all, i.e., players who couldn't play 200cc very well before (myself
).
So far, I've completed most of the cups and only two left.
Why am I doing the 200cc cups? They're fun and you get a bonus character as it turns out -- Gold Mario.
Preferred Kart
Used to love using the F1-like car (or Captain Falcon's kart) with my Mii but after playing MK8D with the new karts/bikes and characters, I've decided to use the following from now on:
Graphics
They look the same to me and that's fine, I already had played MK8D earlier this year so no big deal or surprise there. However, the framerate was improved from 59fps to 60fps so those that complained about it should be super happy Nintendo listened to them.
