Hardware I have heard bad things, how many of you have experienced serious problems with your Switch?

Have you experienced a hardware related quality control issue with your Switch?

TBH and for the record, I sent mine to service on Germany, they didn't seem to even look at them, they just send new ones as replacement.
The bad part of it, the new ones also desynch!

lol but new ones is still better than getting the same old ones back unfixed. I only arrived home at 14h today, so cannot even call them, now have to wait till monday... or i'll just open them up and do the fixes myself.

Got a Switch about a week and a half ago. Immediately noticed it would not charge with the AC adapter, so I sent it in to be repaired two days after I got it.

With that said, I am eager to get it back. It's an awesome console, even if I only played it for a short time.

I fixed the incorrect charged % by dispelling the battery and charging while turned off completely. seemed to help.

I tried that too, actually. After an evening of charging, the unit still read 0% and wouldn't power on. I chocked it up to a bad battery, or some kind of loose connection.

i kept pressing the power button for about a minute, then plugged it in overnight. i dunno, it took me about a week to go from zero only, to 1% that was actually 100%, to close enough to accurate.

the good news is it can probably be fixed with a firmware update in the future.

good luck!

Yeah, I wouldn't put it past a software bug or something. I remember old Symbian smartphones used to have battery-level issues where the OS was misinterpreting how much power was left. Some other users were reporting software issues with the Switch in that regard as well.

I'm not all that bugged by it, though. It's the first time I've sent anything to Nintendo to be repaired for faulty hardware since like, 1998.

I had to exchange the first one I got due to a failing GPU. There were terrible graphical errors with the screen white blocking. So I went back to BestBuy like four hours later and got a different one, it's worked fine ever since. No issues what so ever.

I still think I have a perfect Switch but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and proof of purchase just in the case I find something odd.

Only problem I've had is that the update nag likes to put itself automatically on the UPDATE NOW button, which made me update my damn console during a MK8D session.

Other than that, no issues, but I've taken a little bit of protection by putting some soft material onto the inside of the dock so the screen cannot get scratched.

Haven't had any issues and it's been over a month. I have not experienced crashing, zero dead pixels, no scratches and I've clocked in over 200 hours. I've purchased five games and the sixth is arriving today so plenty of software to keep the hardware busy.

My advice, go with a glass screen protector. You will not regret it one bit.

The negative side will always sound the loudest especially when they show off how bad their system is messed up. But its important to keep yourself in check, hardware malfunctions are not something that majority of owners are experiencing at all. In fact it only seems to be a very small percentage of people that have had issues.

Hell my Switch is just fine without issue 2 months in, conversely my original new Wii stopped reading discs on my second day of ownership, fortunately, Nintendo's customer service sent me a new one through the mail real quickly (I couldn't just return it for another from the store I bought it at the time since supplies were so limited and it was incredibly hard to find the system at the time). I never even brought up the malfunction online because Nintendo was so quick to replace it for me. I think there is always going to be a faulty system here and there when a new one is released, but they don't represent what most people are experiencing.

a new console won't do anything right now, because the games are still in development, that's why there are few games being released
