Nintendo just announced the "New 2ds". It will retail for 149.99, this is more than what the "New 3ds" sold for this past Christmas. These immediately sold out Black Friday, thanks to scalpers, and still sell for much more than retail on eBay and Amazon. Since it looks like the "New 2ds" is just a "New 3ds" without the 3d, should people with a "New 3ds" hold on to them since it seems they will be discontinued in the US. Possibly creating a demand for collectors in the near future?

This looks like a permanent replacement for the 2ds and maybe the New3dsXL too.

I agree about it being a permanent replacement for the 2ds and "New 3ds" but I'm not so sure about the XL. Reason being that the 3ds XL is still being restocked in stores, meanwhile the New 3ds hasn't been available since Christmas and it doesn't seem like it will be.
